Easy To Drive

I got my 2026 Tucson in August. It's been a pleasure to drive. It accelerates quickly and I am able to shut off the auto stop feature when you are waiting at a traffic light. It has good gas mileage. My passengers are very comfortable in the roomy cabin. It has good trunk space.

Very nice riding car with a poorly designed dashboard causing distract

The car itself drives well but the dashboard is poorly designed and in many cases a major distraction while driving. The radio and heat positions are reset after turning the car off. So every morning you have to reset the radio and heat. You might be lucky and not have the radio station change to another while driving. I am a volunteer fireman. I was on the way to a motor vehicle accident on a dark rural road when suddenly the interior courtesy lights went on. I could shut them off. Ever try to drive with the interior fully lit when it was pitch black outside? My crossover has 20” tires on a family car. I have been leasing for 30 years. Fortunatrly, in all those years I have had no vehicle problems, This car is making up for all the good years. My wife and I can’t wait to dump this very bad decision.

Four Month Review

I have only had the vehicle for 4 months so anything can happen in the future to change my mind but so far so good. I just completed a 1,900 mile trip and everything worked fine. As with any vehicle these days I think it has to many gadgets and sensors. I like to drive my car not have my car drive me. I bought the base non-hybrid model but it still has the lane assist and automatic braking - don't like any of that stuff. I have driven over a million miles in my life and never needed my car to assist me with anything.

“Safety Features“ are going to cause an accident!

All of the supposed “safety features“ are going to end up causing accidents as they are distracting (the one that says take a break) which causes drivers to take their eyes off the road and also turns down the sound on the audio in the vehicle, they fight the driver when driving too close to a line (which can cause someone to pull back against the car, luckily this one can be turned off) , and so many other things that are not safe but cant be turned off. People have been driving without these supposed “safety features“ for a very long time and these need to have options to turn them off for those who dont need or want the extra help. I will be looking for a car I can turn these off in the future.

My First SUV

I am a (gulp) senior and this is my first SUV. I have driven sedans up until now. The Tucson initial quality has been excellent (only 5k miles on it). My only negative comment is that in feels a little 'tippy' . It's probably my vertigo. It is very nicely equipped for the price.
