2024 Hyundai Tuscon Hybrid Review

The hybrid is a very nice mid-size SUV with the best features. It's comfortable and rides well, but for the highest end package we did expect more. Simple upsets like Android Auto/Apple Carplay which don't function unless plugged in with the hybrid but work with Bluetooth on other versions of the same and earlier years. We like the memory driver seat, but wish the electrically operated mirrors had memory as well. The auto-open trunk is convenient but too sensitive and otherwise too slow to be useful to someone carrying a heavy item they want to put in the back. The rear cup holders are smaller than the center console ones and can't hold the typical bottles we use. The auto-start 10-minute limit is fine and efficient, but after opening and closing almost any door other than the driver's the vehicle shuts off shortly after..so after securing a car seat in the back and walking to the driver's seat the car is normally off by then even if it's within the 10-minute limit. For the auto-start, once a door has been opened (assuming passengers are boarding) it would be ideal for the vehicle (heat/music) to stay turned on for comfort and convenience even extending the 10-minute further.

The design is nice, the push button shifter stinks, and the cup holder design in pure garbage.

Pretty good, but a few issues.

Bought used, overpaid, been dealing with sensor issues for the front collision and hands on the wheel constantly. Cruise control doesn't work when the front collision sensor is faulting.

Nice vehicle but could be better

The base hybrid model comes loaded with features. The built in GPS is very nice and the safety features like blind spot monitoring and lane keep assist are great. The ride is very comfortable. The only negative issue is that it has been in the shop for repairs twice so far. The first time was for a check engine light issue, a problem in the evap system. Currently it is in the shop for a second issue, the coolant level in the hybrid system keeps going down. Each trip to the dealer takes about a week until they get to it, so currently we are waiting for their response, so another week is going by without being able to drive it....

Love this car

Love the way the car drives and handles. Fuel economy is the mid 30's mpg, for a car of this size that is awesome! The interior is is great and design rivals cars that cost tens of thousands of dollars more.

Continuing to Enjoy my 2024 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Limited

I now have 25,000 mi and my car is two years old. I do like it better than my past two cars, both Audi A4's. Servicing is quick, easy and informative. Great mileage with regular gas is a savings. I was disappointed to have to call road assistance on two occasions, each after 10 days left in a parking garage, to jump my car. I learned later from the service staff that purchasing a "trickle battery" for my car is recommended, but that had never been mentioned to me. Also, removing the plastic (prying it off) on the door handle to access with a key when the battery is dead and remote is too, has proven to scratch that area. I also learned about the battery start switch from the service dept lady and will try it next time.

I regret getting this car

It look good and had features but it’s is annoying to drive because of all the quirks with the user interface. the electronics are always malfunctioning. The seat is very uncomfortable.

Adequate compact SUV

I've owned 3 compact SUVs (3 different makes) in the last decade, and this is my least favorite. I love that it is hybrid, and the back seat is spacious. I detest how much is controlled by touch screen. It is distracting to have to reset the climate control by looking at a screen (not the road). Not sure if it's just mine, or if all Tucsons are this loud...so much wind noise. The remote start is wonky (but that may be user error). This car gets me from A to B with good mileage and was within budget. It's ok, but I'll go back to Mazda or Honda before I try Hyundai again.
