Solid performance so far, with some minor issues
I have had my palisade for about 3 months and so far there have been zero mechanical issues. The features that are included at the Calligraphy trim level rival standard luxury vehicles, and the warranty is pretty much the best in class presently. Issues I have had have included: 1) Bluetooth recognition of my phone; the vehicle randomly disconnects my bluetooth connection and I have to re-establish my link about once or twice a week, 2) No running boards included, but necessary, especially if you have little ones; This vehicle is roughly the height of full size SUV, and my 5 and 6 year old have issues getting in and out of the vehicle without running boards. Because we do not want to hinder our ability to traverse obstacles in the road, I have not looked for aftermarket fixed running boards, and sadly Hyundai is lacking when it comes to availability of an automatic option, 3) Door sensors are not sensitive enough when approaching to unlock, and often require mulitiple pulls on the door handle regardless of proximity to the door with keys, and 4) the remote is just not comfortable to use; the shape is a swollen oval and it is difficult at best to get a solid grip and push buttons with one hands. square or rectangular remote would be much more functional, 5) the remote start function is finnicky; not sure what to say other than the vehicle is very sensitive to timing when it comes to the button combination for remote start, 6) lastly, the front end is not aesthetically pleasing; older models were much more attractive- I thought this vehicle's front end would grow on me, but it has not.
Overall, I recommend this car as a solid mid-to-almost full size vehicle for reliability and space. We will probably keep it for 2 years and then swap it to move back to a luxury vehicle for the reasons listed above, but if price is a concern, you will be hard-pressed to find a vehicle with more bang for your buck. Good luck!
