Not a true off-road vehicle
Besides the dealership having liars and unethical people working for them at Autonation Tempe Hyundai. Thats a separate issue. The Hyundai Palisade XRT PRO though nice looking on the exterior and interior is not a true off-road or all terrain vehicle as advertised. Poor clearance height does not compare to Toyota 4 runner/ Land Rover, Nissan Armada 4x4, or even its cousin Kia’s version of the same SUV in ride height or ground clearance. There are no off-road aftermarket accessories- no push or brush bumpers, no possibility of a three inch suspension lift kit, and what can be done about taller / larger tires? There isn’t even an overland style roof rack that works well or looks good. There is also no way to add accessory exterior off-road lights. I did research before purchasing and yes I thought it had potential, but I’m learning - no, no potential to be a decent all terrain vehicle in looks and performance without completely redesigning the vehicle to be specifically for all terrain adventures. To be clear, I wasn’t look for a rock crawler like my jeep gladiator, but I was looking for a unique vehicle to become an actual all terrain from city to trail vehicle with beefy looks and performance without completely looking like an overly modified extreme 4x4 Overlander. I’m thinking that’s probably what I should’ve purchased, is either an actual four wheel drive Chevy Tahoe, a Ford Bronco, a Toyota 4 runner / Land Cruiser or a Nissan Armada, or gone with an established 4x4 known by the market. I remember Hyundai advertised an all - terrain Santa Fe with all the off-road accessories package - lift, tires, rack, spare fuel can, brush guard bumper, etc., it was beefy and looked like it was ready for the trail and camping fun - but from what I later learned, it wasn’t brought to market in that manner. I can’t even find any of the accessories that were used to beef it up. Anyway, the off-road all terrain market is huge and I think Hyundai should compete and the XRT pro could’ve been a real contender. It needs more real build up options. One other thing, I don’t like where the push to start button is located on that thing that sticks out behind tge steering wheel where the driving modes are changed and I definitely don’t like the auto stop start feature when sitting at traffic light. I would rather disconnect it permanently as an option.
