Kona Electric is a fun, stylish, versatile vehicle

The latest iteration of the Hyundai Kona Electric manages to improve on the driving experience of the older model in almost every way. It's easy to drive with extremely useful, user-friendly cockpit software that keeps the driver informed without being obtrusive or annoying. It keeps the powerful torque of the older Kona Electric, but softens the acceleration curve enough to avoid the spin-outs that would happen with the older Kona. The small increases in outer dimensions yield a noticeably larger interior cabin and trunk area, including a small front-trunk area best for things like battery jumpers and the free adapter for Tesla chargers that Hyundai shipped to all Kona owners. The only downside is that the older Kona handled like an SUV-shaped car, while the newer Kona is definitely a small SUV, feeling top-heavier and a little less nimble than before. It still handles very nicely and the low center of gravity makes it feel extremely stable; drivers unfamiliar with the older Kona probably won't know what they're missing. Overall, it's a wonderful vehicle that I have enjoyed driving in the 1+ years I've had it.

What a great car

Just love the car! Hyundai got this second generation just about perfect! It beats Tesla in a few driving tech area, like the intuitive regen paddle braking

First EV

For my first EV I was happy with this car. It scooted around very easily. Overall a little small for me so ended up with a bigger EV. I also was not happy about when it got cold (in the 40s) it would not charge to my 80% which is a problem living in Washington State.

Good compact EV

Car meets most expectations. Lack of charging stations in region and smaller range at highway speeds means longer trips we hoped to take are not as possible as we'd like.

Reliable and stylish

I love my 2024 Kona EV. The interior is stylish from the integrated infotainment system display to the comfortable seats. One of my favorite things on the exterior of the Limited edition is the pixelated front and rear design.

Amazing compact SUV

I thoroughly enjoyed my 2 years leasing this car. It's the perfect size for a couple plus a dog--we drive to camping, hiking, short road trips, visiting family. The interior beautifully made and the intuitiveness and beauty of the display is unmatched. There are definitely cars out there will longer range and shorter charging times, but overall this was an incredible first electric car for us.

The Charging is irritating at times... I press Stop Charging and it won't and you can't get the charger out. This happens at home and I just unplug it from the wall and it releases the charger

Good little car

Gets you around, nothing fancy. Nice screens and CarPlay connection. Had no mechanical issues in 24k miles. Suspension feels cheap and squishy. Charging and range were perfect according to the specs. No complaints overall.

Very comfortable and reliable.

The interior is very spacious, especially compared to the previous model of Kona EV. It's a very smooth ride and very comfortable. Navigation is simple, and driving in eco mode saves wear on the brakes. I almost always charge at home overnight, every 3 or 4 weeks. The longer I have it, the more I like it.

Great car

This car is my third Kona electric. (Leases). Car is great for everyday use. Owners manual is 1" thick so learning curve is steep. Many, many driver comfort features available.

Reliable, but not as effecient as EPA states

Sound system is absolutely sub-par, Android Auto was great though. Efficiency is not as advertised. 3.4 miles kW per miles average for 24k miles.

Great entry EV.

I found the Kona EV to be a very approachable EV. I left Tesla to save some money and because Elon is a douche. This car has been great so far. It doesn't get the same range as the Tesla 3 and still hasn't come out with the official adapter to use the Tesla fast charging network, which I was told was coming in 2025.
