Like it More Every Drive

There is an overall smoothness to the vehicle. I enjoy the pedal control of vehicle speed. Cruse control works well at keeping speed within 1 mph most of the time.

Good range, looks and driving experience

After choosing NOT to buy a Tesla, this is the only EV we looked at, because I wanted a sedan not an SUV, a reasonable price not a luxury vehicle, and good range and driving features. I found it very easy to drive immediately in the test drive, and our salesman was not pushy and super nice. We felt compelled to buy quickly amidst all the talk of tariffs on foreign cars so we did. I was not happy with the price of the maintenance package but my husband felt it was necessary to purchase. Here are things I like: 1) all the features, warning lights, speed, maps are easy to read even for older eyes on the dashboard, 2) the look, it is a sleek elegant car 3) the trunk space 4) the backseat space, 5) the driving range 6) the two tiered central console. Since owning for a few months I have these few tweaks Hyundai might consider for future Ioniq versions: 1) the gear shift positioned behind the steering wheel is hard to see. Both drivers had to get used to NOT shifting gears on central console; 2) I have trouble getting the cool/heat vent on the left side to actually blow on me as it is also behind the steering wheel and other instruments 3) I hate the black rectangle in the middle of the top of the front windshield but I guess it holds necessary cameras and sensors.

Ionic review is about policy not vehicle

Extremely bad policy for vehicle and dealership. You should never sell an electric car and not provide a means of charging it. We were promised a regular charger and an adapter when we purchased the car but it wasn’t in the trunk as promised. We were promised that they would arrive in a day or two but they never came. Promises were made over and over until we were finally told that Hyundai had changed its policy and no longer provided a charger. How is a 79 year old woman supposed to get around without any means of charging her car. Later I was contacted about a FREE charger but it wasn’t only free if I paid you to have it installed. That charge was almost$2,000.00. How would Antony believe that was free? As a handicapped senior woman, I am disgusted with your lack of concern for your customers. I feel like I have been abused by your company and dealership!! I purchased my own charger with the help of a friend and it wasn’t only free under$1000.00. This shows your offer as a scam! Bad decision on your part. Lying and cheating are not good characteristics.

Perfect in every way...almost.

Everything is great. Except when automatically connecting to my phone when I am using navigation or a different application. I have to manually connect again to my original application or disable my phone to use vehicle apps.

I love the car. But a few things can be better.

The car drives smooth. I think internally they should use better material. But it's still very nice. The touch sensivity of the screen can definitly be better I feel I have to press hard. The car can definitely be designed a little better externally. Every one says it looks weird.

Great car with small improvement tweaks possible

Fun to drive. Nice looking. (More than one person has asked if it is a Porshe.) Comfortable. Peppy. Handles very nice. Small improvements I'd suggest: The key fob is way too big. I'm using my iPhone instead as a key, but it was a royal pain to set up. It also works only by holding it for a couple of seconds next to the door handle to unlock--it would be better if it acted just like the key fob and unlocked as you approach. To get the phone to act as a key to start the car you have to--no joke--turn it face down and upside down. It would be better if it acted just like the key fob and allowed you to push the start button with your phone still in your pocket. I like the level 4 for the throttle where you essentially don't need to use the brake pedal. It does have a tiny lurch when you come to the complete stop--it would be nice to eliminate that lurch. I like the lane keep setting that aggressively keeps you in the center of the lane. It could probably be refined a bit--I like to hug the inner part of a curve and it doesn't like that. I also like to shift a bit to the opposite edge of the lane when passing say a truck. It wants to keep me closer to the truck. I like that it tells me how many miles are left until the need to recharge. I think they round up though and it is not very accurate. It is as though they assume perfect conditions--65 degrees and you are traveling only 50 miles per hour. I have never come close to getting the number of miles they project--it overstates it by about 15-20%. Change to the Tesla charger standard. I also wish that charging stations were more transparent about their pricing, although this is not really a Hyundai issue.

Excellent features and performance

I love the smart features: the heads-up display, 3-d overhead view for tight parking, lane warnings, etc. Even in eco mode the acceleration is impressive…and silent. You just move. Spacious back seat. I use the precondition when walking to my car and don’t burn my butt on the hot seat.

Transcendental Driving

This car is "Transcendental Driving". It is quiet, luxurious, smooth, efficient and thoughtfully engineered. My last car was a Mercedes and this car beats it by a wide margin

Truly a Tesla Killer!

After switching from leasing two different Teslas previously, I would find it very hard to choose a different EV! I truly LOVE my Hyundai Ioniq 6!!!! Really nice look as well…instead of looking like all the Tesla owners.

Great styling, fun to drive, very poor navigation software, completely useless software for charge stations. Build quality is poor with terrible fit of the hood, poor body panel smoothness. Powertrain is very good, battery is good, handling is excellent. The ioniq 6 should be equipped with 18-inch Wheels for a better ride and much improved range. 20-in wheels on an EVR is apoor design decision

Solid as a car. Needs work as an electric vehicle.

Came from a 2021 Tesla Model 3. In comparison, the Ioniq 6 feels well constructed, quieter, and smoother riding. It also at least claims more range than I expected. The car is very roomy inside compared to the Tesla; my family fits much better in the Ioniq. The suspension handles bumps and bad road much better than the Tesla, which could be bone jarring. I appreciate the physical buttons and not having to access the touch screen as much. The built-in voice recognition is pretty good for the limited amount I've used it. Having a wireless charging pad but requiring my phone to be plugged in to use Android Auto is pretty aggravating. I'd like the option to keep the charge door open even when the vehicle is locked; we plug swap at work to share chargers and having to deal with the closed and locked charge door is frustrating. My chief complaint is that the software experience is not nearly as refined as the Tesla. It lacks polish and a lot of features for controlling charging and climate control. Tesla's versions were easier to use. I haven't tried a long trip with level 3 charging yet but from reading manuals and user's experiences online, I'm not looking forward to it. There's a lot of catch up that needs to be done to match Tesla's experience. There's some odd things like setting the charge limit to 80% means my car is actually charged to 79%. Sometimes it respects my peak hours settings but will sometimes choose to top up outside of those periods. The terminology used in the My Hyundai app is not the same as the terminology used in the car's interface. The car's interface is a little bit clearer, if still limited compared to the Tesla. The online owner's manual is hard to find and difficult to navigate when you do. I really don't want to watch a video when I can read the section of the manual faster, if I could find it. Plus I often get videos that aren't applicable to my car. There's probably an endless amount of criticism I could raise against the online experience. A secondary complaint is that I would have preferred the 18 inch wheels on my SEL AWD since there's a big impact on range. The 20 inch tires are really dumb and I wouldn't have minded an option to spec just the tires down.

Love this vehicle!

I never thought I would enjoy driving a car as much as I enjoy driving my new Ionic 6. The handling is smooth and responsive. The interior is very comfortable. The car has a ton of features - from safety features to those designed to make driving in the car a completely comfortable experience. I am super impressed with the Ionic 6. Great job Hyundai!
