I love my Ioniq 5 but jury is still out

Our SEL has been a great car and massive improvement for us in the family transportation department. I love having an EV! I have to drive my son to football practice 4 times a week and the 7 mile drive there an back 2-3 times a day has become so much more pleasant. I dont' even like driving our gas cars anymore. This car is snappy, easy to drive and comfortable for 4 ppl. If all 5 family members are in it, it is too much. We have taken it to Denver 3 times which is a 3 hour drive with two major climbs over mnt passes. I love the regenerative braking coming off Vail pass. It does seem to have a few electrical glitches with the Android Auto here and there but no deal breakers yet. The seat heater in drivers seat doesn't work.

Best experience with a new car.

In a nutshell I am loving my 2025, Ionic 5. I all ready had a home solar system, including a Tesla battery, and can charge the Ionic 5 overnight for "free".

Excellent car, just missing few comfort features

Excellent car, it has some great features and missing some basic things like trunk open and close buttons seat memory through door i can see insulation black materials and delicate

Charging is not working

Cannot charge the car. The dealer was unable to fix. Has to go in for service. Not even at 1000 miles when this happened

This is my second Ioniq 5. The first one a 2022 which I was very pleased with but the 2025 model is even better.

It's better than Tesla, for ME

I do not like Tesla minimalist design, my 2025 Ioniq 5 Limited All wheel drive has all I need (I'm old fashion in terms of vehicle management)

Could be great...

Great car, but missing some basic convenience features that should be standard on any 2025 vehicle: auto up/down windows all around, wireless charging for phone. Also, there's a noticeable hesitation between 60-70 mph at partial throttle, which is concerning.

Love Driving My New Car

I enjoy my new car inmensely, for many reasons. It rides super smooth, quiet, and most importantly, super efficiently. The battery lasts forever, I just drove from San Diego to Santa Monica, then East Hollywood, and back, in one charge! That is crazy efficient! I love the Android Auto feature, and how seamless it is to use app like Maps,, Spotify, Audible, etc. I also love how simple and intuitive all the buttons in the panels are. No fuzz, no guess, straighforward. And of course, I love the interiors, they are so cool, so large, the windshield is huge, visibility is amazing, space is huge, and the outside look is so unique, including the color and the trims, that it is a standout car all in all. I love it.

Check engine light that the dealership has taken >3 weeks on

If you have any issues with the car (like me with a check engine light that is taking weeks to root cause), the dealership is not likely to give you a loaner and expects you to just be without a car that you pay for.

Loving this EV

This is our first EV and we love it. The features, the tech, the ride, everything. We've had it for over two months and have had no issues so far. In the Ioniq 5, the only negative we have is when putting three adults in the back it feels a little cramped for the middle person.

Great car, but there are nuances.

This is my first electric vehicle. And my overall experience is great. The car is sturdy, pleasant to drive, battery range is very good for my style of driving within the city, the car is spacious and allowes me to have everything I ususally need for my work and leisure rutines. However there are nuances: the doors interior is not very scratch and stains resistant, the phone wireless charger gets overheated while the sun is intense, there is no shelf covering the trunk from inside, and charging at Tesla chargers is tricky: I have to occupy 2 spots because the charging cords at Tesla are very short to reach the car port from the right side, so I have to use the neighbor charger. This is inconvenient when the charging station is full.

Driving this car is a learning experience. There are + and -.

I love the acceleration in the car. It is comfortable, and quiet. Dislikes are the cruise control with the driver assist. I hate it. This car is almost too smart and I don't feel like I have control. I hydroplaned a little in the big storm a few weeks ago and it suggested I needed sleep?
