my second ioniq 5 in two years
When the main battery on our 2023 Ioniq 5 died with only 8070 mile on it, we waited patiently for Hyundai to replace the battery. After more than two months of waiting and Hyundai saying they didn't know for sure when a new battery would arrive, we entered their buyback program and thought that the matter was closed. Immediately we went out and bought a new ioniq 5 because we love this car and assumed the battery failure was a fluke. After more than three months of waiting, a new battery did arrive and a few weeks later Hyundai said they wouldn't buy a car back. We like our 2025 Ioniq 5, though in many ways the 2023 model seemed better put together. Because the new car has the new North American Standard port, we have more charging options on long trips. It also has a rear window wiper unlike our 2023 model. The new car comes with a J1117 adapter and one for quick charging with that type as well. We also enjoy the tremendous amount of storage space it offers . All in all, we are very happy with our new Ioniq 5, just less happy with its manufacturer.
