Good car, bad service

A door on my car wasn’t assembled correctly. After 3 service visits and a long wait for a part, it is still not.

Not better than the 2022 Limited AWD model

Fun to drive; feels rushed compared to the 2022 model. Qi wireless charger does not charge well any phone I tried, iPedal disengages when cycling through Drive Modes and skips (does not decelerates smoothly when in iPedal) there are gaps in the panels which produces a whistle sound at certain speeds, wiper blades are low quality, there are imperfections in the paint, back right hand side window shade is not secure enough and a slight wind closes it, battery gauge reads certain miles left of range but it's not accurate or precise.

Excellent Performance and Range

The performance and range is excellent. I traveled immediately after a 100% level 2 24amp charge from Savannah Ga to Augusta Ga, round trip is 278 miles. I has 23% charge left. I don’t usually go below 30% before it charge, but this was excellent. Stayed within the posted speed limits. For that, I gave it 5 stars. I chose the RWD because I’ve never used the AWD in my 3 years of having the 2022 Tucson Hybrid here in Savannah. My issues were minor and definitely not a ratings or deal breaker. First, when you have the small map window up in the cluster with the radio and other options, it’s black all the time. There’s no way of changing it. The full map and right side small window are fine, but the one on the main screen when you can put two other items, is totally useless. On my vehicle, the front hood and quarter panels are slightly off. Irregular spacing between the doors and front wheel panels. I brought to the attention of the dealer service department and was told it a manufacturing defect and cannot be corrected and nothing can be done for me. No big deal to me because its mechanically flawless and awesome, but at more than $52k, I expected a little finer workmanship. I would never change from my Ioniq 5 SEL. This has been my 6th Hyundai in the past 18 years, and I never had any of them needing anything other than the normal service schedule. Never had or spent a dime on any unscheduled repairs in 18 years.

Ioniq 5N Blue control lights

The Ioniq 5N is great, but I can't see the controls for the heating and air conditioning because the lights are blue. Blue does not show up in daylight. The lights need to be white of red in order to see them in the daytime. There is no way to change the color on the N model.

A great EV with questionable non-included items.

I love the look and the feel of this car - my first EV! It’s so cool to have the extra room so I can drive without feeling like I’m cramped for space. Charging is easy and intuitive. There are a few things I’m still trying to figure out out - they just don’t feel intuitive to me. For instance, Auto Regen - it just never seems to work the way I think it should such as driving down a hill with a stop sign at the bottom - and the brakes don’t seem to grab hold to stop the car fast enough without pushing on them harder than you would in Regen Level 3, for instance. Missing items that should be there in this SE model but aren’t. The LED’s in the steering wheel instead of place holder indentations for the LEDs. The phone charging pad - especially since the location for it is PERFECT! It’s my understanding that because I don’t have the HomeLink mirror, I won’t have the connections for a traffic camera either.

We went from a Rivian to the Ioniq 5. The efficiency is almost 2X better. The 5 is just as roomy inside and the ride is smoother. It doesn't quite have the cool factor that our grandkids loved.

Poorly designed $400.00 charge credit program

I bought an Ioniq 5 back on 5/10/2025 and it came with a $400.00 charge credit, which I found out on my own the hard way, that I can only use at the Puente Hills Hyundai dealership where I bought it as per my attempts at ChargePoint locations by my house and a call to ChargePoint. Most of the times when I go to the dealership (15 miles roundtrip), there is already a vehicle on charge at the one charging station I can use. I loaded my credit card information in the ChargePoint app because I'm desperate for a charge, but it still won't charge because the remaining balance of the credit, $151.38, must be used first. I am super frustrated... This is 3rd Hyundai in a row, but my first electric vehicle. This will be my last Hyundai if you do not fix the problem I'm having with your poorly designed $400.00 charge credit on my brand new Ioniq 5. Please resolve ASAP...my Ioniq 5 is at 43%.
