Love the car, hate the dealership!
I purchased a 2026 GV 80 from Fitzgerald Genesis in Rockville this past September. While I absolutely love everything about the car, I have had nothing but problems with the dealership. I transferred personalized tags as I have done many times when leasing a vehicle and for some reason, the dealership issued two title numbers. Took me two visits and many hours at the motor vehicle administration to sort it out. I set up a password for an account that held all of the paperwork for the lease of my vehicle. I went to pull up the paperwork and the password didn’t work. I called the dealership because it said they were the only people who could reset it and I never received a call back. I have emailed one of the sales managers there twice because I never received the fragrance cartridges that were supposed to come with the car. Never heard a word. The original salesman that I was working with in Gaithersburg came down to the Rockville dealership and stayed until the paperwork was done. He spent five minutes going over the car and then left. He showed me how the radio worked. Nothing else. Apparently, Genesis sends regular emails with instructions on all of the bells and whistles and how to use them. I went to read one and found out that they expire after a short period of time. Ridiculous!
I’ve had no follow up whatsoever from the dealership. Specifically went to the Gaithersburg dealership because of the location and the ease of use. The Rockville dealership is impossible to get in and out of, there is no parking and it is in a high traffic area. I was told at the Gaithersburg dealership that they were only selling Hyundai’s now. Nobody mentioned that that was going to happen when I was at the dealership about a month before. I would’ve found a different dealership to go to.
Basically, I have what looks to be a wonderful car that probably does a lot more than I know it can do. I have given up on Fitzgerald Hyundai/Genesis to the point where I am willing to drive to Tysons Corner just to be treated well.
