My little spaceship!

This car is a pleasure to drive and is a real head turner. I am always stopped and asked what I think about the car... and I answer that it is my little spaceship! It is so comfortable and is a great touring vehicle as well as a little workhorse!

Nice try

Good power, and nice features ... when they work. Nice attempt on technology, but features often don't work or stop working mid-stream. For instance, the cruise control features often stop working for no reason, air-play will stop working spontaneously, fingerprint reader won't read, etc. The engine seems strong, gas mileage is as advertised, seating is comfortable, and the car looks nice. The rear cargo area looks bigger than it truly is, so can't fit a guitar case in sideways like with my Infiniti Q60, and there's just zero storage space up front for things like spare water bottles, purses, etc., so it's not convenient.

So far we have 3000 miles in our new Genesis and we have enjoyed driving the vehicle. It provides a smooth low road noise interior with ample technology options and personalized touch. Takes a bit to get the hang of all the tech. The air diffuser is not the best at actually proving a scent in the vehicle.

Great luxury vehicle

Great car! You really get a lot of value with this purchase. If I had to give Genesis one thing to work on improving, it would be gas mileage.

GV80 review

Overall, I love the vehicle. The best features in my opinion is styling, interior (comfort, quality of materials, appearance, color options offered, space and technology). The driving dynamics are the one area where I feel it needs improvement, specifically the transmission. There always seems to be a lag in acceleration and down shift when needed. The smoothness of the drivetrain is a strength but lacks responsiveness. Finally fuel economy could use improvement.

Genesis GV80

The Genesis GV80 with the 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 (3.5T) is powerful responsive. The ride is smooth, solid and quiet. The interior is luxurious and well appointed. The start/stop engine has a shutoff that must be pressed every drive. There is no Maintenance Schedule in the Manual. Overall this SUV is a very good value.

This is my fourth Genesis and they keep getting better! So pleased with the quality, reliability and the styling. I was a die-hard German (built, not just logoed) car owner, until I drove a Genesis.

A few improvements would go a long way for this beautiful suv

Pros: Looks beautiful inside and out. Very very quiet! Cons: No way to adjust headrest which forces you to look down. Super bad design. The media usb port does not work except for charging which means the media function carries no value. This needs to be fixed asap. Make wired car play work again for multiple reasons. This is not ok. The engine off when stopped feature needs to default to always on. The law has changed. Gas brake Pedals level should have an adjustment Steering wheel does not telescope toward driver enough Transmission is very lazy even in sport Gas tank is 17 gallons vs 25+ along with no spare tire. Why all the wasted storage space, make the tank bigger or give me a full size spare. Since it eats gas prob go with the larger tank. Poor turning radius. The interior drive and setting knob should be switched so gear selector is where setting selector is. Trunk opens super slow when you press the button from the inside. Why do I have to hold that button so long, should be instant. Even the wait when standing behind the car is a bit long. KEY FOB should open trunk even while car is running, also lock and unlock doors while car is running.

It's a nice car that's had some 'bugs'

Bought it new and within a few months there was an issue that developed and the local dealership could not repair it until I called corporate. Then it took over a month to replace two parts. It is also extremely difficult to get a service appointment in a reasonable amount of time.

Mostly good

Ride is excellent. Car has been very good. Issue is with the warning systems. The "consider taking a coffee break" comes up way too frequently- if I have sunglasses on or if it doesn't detect my eyes straight ahead constantly. It says you can turn it off, but you can't. Its such an annoyance I have considered trading in the car. Not quite as good in the snow as I had expected.

2015 Genesis

We looked at and test drove several luxury cars including Audi, Range Rover, BMW, Genesis, Lexus, etc. Afterwards, I did some research on each car's strengths and weaknesses. Then we drove the Genesis and Lexus again. Because my previous car was a Lexus, I thought that was it. However, my husband and I both felt the Genesis GV80 was the most comfortable, best warranty and best looking of all the cars we considered.

Advantages and Disadvantages

The inability to lock the car without a key or cell phone is both inconvenient and, at times, a potential security concern. On the other hand, the GV80 has really great and reliable driver assist features that keep us safe while on the road!
