I was interested in a 2021 F-150 then a '22 came along

I had been looking at a 2021 F150 for a couple of years. I was ready to purchase and wanted the 2021 Lariat model. A dealership in Ohio (Derrow Shirkey) had a 2022 Lariat and it had all the of the options that I wanted 3.5 L V6 twin turbo engine and my favorite color silver, so I couldn't resist buying the 2022. I am completely satisfied with the decision and love all of the options it offers. 360° panoramic view, which comes handy when parking, leather seats, remote start, and the moon is great. The ride is immaculate. It has both a smooth ride and it looks luxurious inside, so you get the best of both worlds. The price of trucks aren't dropping too much as they become more and more popular so there wasn't much difference in the price of the 2021s vs the 22s.

Options abound in this amazing truck! I love everything about this truck! Just the vehicle we were looking for for our recreational and towing needs! All the comforts a family can ask for in a truck! Woohoo!

Worst Transmission Ever!

I looked forward to getting my new 2022 F-150 4x4, crewcab, Platinum.... etc, etc, etc. BUT after driving it for a year, I would never buy another one. The transmission is a mechanical nightmare, can't decide what gear it should be in, it may have looked good on the drawing table and in theory, BUT in practical application, it is an engineering failure and I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER ONE. In addition to the horrible transmission, it is over-engineered, way too many electronics that simply get in the way, go haywire sometimes, the radio goes in and out, the passenger window starts rolling up and down by itself, to the engineers..... just because you can make another electronic gadget or some type of programming, it's just too much. And one of the stupidest things ever, the Owner's Manual is an electronic version built into the sound system / GPS center screen. If the truck is broken down or something wrong with it, you can't pull up the Owner's Manual if the damn truck won't start or the electronics are fried.... an actual book you can thumb through instead of trying to figure out what electronic pathway or keyword your particular problem could be listed under... not what you want to have to do when your car isn't working right in the first place. Wake up Ford or I will never buy another one of your products ever again. And one last thing... I ordered the truck with the 5.0 Coyote V8, it's an absolute dog and gutless when paired with that nightmare of a transmission. If you punch the gas, the truck will do nothing because it just pokes along and can't downshift to the appropriate gear because there are too many gears to go through. It's worse than the turbo lag that was in my Audi A6... the F-150 is a mechanical engineering failure, don't waste your money on one.

Number one selling truck for a reason

This 2022 F150 replaced our 2017 F250 as our tow vehicle and then turned into our primary driver after a barn fire took our second vehicle. Fuel mileage is better than the 6.2L F250 and still tows a #6000 travel trailer with ease. The four door version gave us the added space we needed for protected gear.15,000 miles and has not been in the shop for any warranty issues. Well done Ford. Now if Ford would only build our Maverick.
