Not a good place to go for service!
I have a vehicle with 54,000 miles and the engine had issues, same issues as the recall on 200,000 of the same vehicle but of course mine was a different batch number so Hyundai didn't want to pay, nor did they want to honor the 10 year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty or any other warranty for that matter, Crain did not help in the matter at all, I finally called Hyundai myself and got a case opened, long story short they agreed to pay 85% and not 100% but the guys at Crain still done nothing to help and actually let the offer expire so they asked me to call Hyundai corporate back and ask them to approve it again because they didn't know what to do, for 4 1/2 months I dealt with this while paying for a car I didn't have, Crain does not answer phone calls in the service department nor do they return calls, texts or emails, I once called and was told both guys on my case were busy and then the person laughed, when I said I would call Hyundai Corporate or my attorney amazing enough one of them was not busy anymore... in the end they tried to charge me $785 extra to replace the hoses on the car, I told them no because it wasn't old enough for the hoses to be bad, Well guess what? when I finally was able to pick up the car after 4 1/2 months I smelt Coolant and was told to drive it because it probably just spilled out when the engine was changed, after a few days of driving it was leaking a steady stream and I had to add a gallon of coolant I took the car back and was then told the coolant hose was leaking, imagine that, they wanted to charge me $532 to change the coolant hose, they tried telling me this is why they recommend changing them because they deteriorate but was then told it was a connecter to the another coolant hose under the intake leaking so it didn't deteriorate but a connector broke, then was told I didn't have to pay them to fix it, I said well the car is tore apart in the shop so you want to put it back together and me drive it home and fix it, they informed me it wasn't tore apart so I asked how they knew it was a connector under the intake, service manager who was new that week said his guys know enough to pressurize the system and know what is leaking, what a coincidence the technician knew a connector was leaking under the intake and not a deteriorated hose without even taking it apart to look, I think not!! also, I was charged to replace both low beam headlights, it showed on the ticket that the customer approved the replacement, which is not true so if you value your money, your car and your time I would not recommend going to Crain Hyundai!! this is the short version of the story.
