It is a great truck
I bought my Tundra brand new. It is a great truck for the most part. It has plenty of power, but the gas mileage is a bit under the estimated mileage stated on the sticker.
It rides good, but I added overloads to allow me to tow a 32 foot travel trailer and a 650 CC quad.
The only complaint I have is that somewhere around the end of the warranty period (36 months at that time) the rack and pinion steering mechanism began leaking. The grease finally filled the boots and began leaking out around 40K miles. Since it was out of warranty, the price to replace the steering was $2900. I was quite unhappy about that, especially when I found out that this is an occasional occurrence, but they don't know why. "However, if we determine it is a defect in manufacturing, we will reimburse you." The mechanic agreed with me that it probably had begun leaking before the end of the warranty period, but did not become
evident until 500 miles later.
I now have 50K miles on the truck, just replaced the tires, and it's still going strong.
