Beautiful Car but Dangerous Automation

The car itself is beautiful. Extremely smooth ride with plenty of power. Interior is perfectly designed with instruments well-placed and easy to read. The huge fault with this car is the automation...it goes from annoying to downright dangerous. There is an automatic feature that will mute the audio and a message will appear recommending you take a break. There is no rhyme or reason as to why the message appears...but if it is very windy, then the message is almost incessant. If you like to listen to audiobooks on a windy day...forget it. Can you turn the feature off? No. Now the dangerous part of this car is the cruise control. You cannot turn off the distance measuring to the next car - only change it down to one car length (which is really more like three car lengths). If you are on the highway in traffic and everyone is doing the speed limit and someone decides to slide into the gap between you and the next car, the cruise control will brake heavily. EXTREMELY dangerous - especially if you have an 18-wheeler right behind you. When I am in traffic now, I turn the cruise control off because it is too dangerous to use. Unless the feature is changed, I will never buy another one because it is just too dangerous to drive.

Great car, awful cup holders

I love the sonata. This has been my 3rd one. I have the nline specifically. My 23 sonata nline had great cup holders. The 26 cupholders in the front sucks. They are either too wide or not deep enough. Ive spilled both coffee and soda into my passenger seat bc if you take a turn slightly hard, even a large will tip. Also the rear bose speaker rattles. Thats very annoying and i had to fix that rattle myself.

Very comfortable car, sharp car, can't believe they have no ventilation for the back seat. The 2.5L engine is way under powered for the car. Poor acceleration would not trust it to pass or pull out in front of someone.

Never should have bought it

Transmission and throttle are difficult on 30 mph town roads. Automatic braking loxks up my wheels when I back down my driveway if a car goes by on my street 75 feet away.Owners manual is useless and why are the paddle shifters placed where they can be accidentally bumped during normal driving.

A lot for the money

I had two genesis g 70 sedans and they were great but expensive. My new Sonata N Line is actually more fun to drive, has more horsepower thanks to a 2.5 turbo charged engine pumping out 290 hp. The 19 inch rims are awesome with pirelli all season sport tires. Bose sound system is fantastic and I love the panoramic moon roof. Also safety features galore and a beautiful interior that is very comfortable. All this and more for judt 38k. I couldn't be any happier, thanks Hyundai.

Good, 2026 Sonata noticed rear defog takes a long time to clear rear window. Rear view mirrors left and right also fog up easily. My 2017 worked well to clear mirrors and rear window.

Roomy, comfortable, only a little overboard with safety features

I bought a 2026 sonata after driving a 2007 sonata for 19 years. I immediately felt "at home." Compared to a lot of other cars on the market, this one felt roomy, comfortable, and with minimal distractions on the dashboard (yes, I consider 99% of the "infotainment" screen to be "distractions." I'm driving a two-ton-destruction machine, not seeking to be "infotained.") Smooth handling, love the AWD. "Safety" features are overboard and many CANNOT be turned off (well, you can turn them off until you restart the car, which make life miserable for those of us who want to drive the car). The next time it auto-locks my breaks because I am backing up over a pothole I am going to back it through a wall. I was quite disappointed that the car ONLY connects maps via CarPlay or Android Auto, there is no native or in-built maps option. So, if you don't have your phone tethered to your soul, your SOL. Speaking of phone, the distraction system on the dashboard is so dedicated to connecting to the phone that I have now added a bluetooth "toggle" button to my phone to prevent the car from accessing it. I wish the whole car had a "dumb" button. Also, I can't get the driver's seat to adjust comfortably; the passenger-side seat without all the bells and whistles goes exactly where I want it, but the "8-way adjustable power seats" kind of miss the mark. "Sport" mode is awesome, but you have to select it each and every time, no option to customize and have it start in the user's preferred mode.

Good quality for the price

Its a good car at the price point with many add-ons that are great but not everything is included at this model. Things that I wished I realized it had that I took for granted was AC vents in the second row. Another thing I wish I had gotten since my old car had it was the 360 view to be able to park much easier. The engine that is fast enough but a little louder than normal. It's a good car overall for the price paid, but does not include everything that I had.

A Great Fit

The 2026 Hyundai has many more bells and whistles than I am accustomed. I miss the CD deck, but that is compensated by many of the excellent features, specifically the navigation system which I use often.
