I pretty much love everything about it
After about 8,000 miles which included a couple 8-10 hr trips, there are very few minor things I dislike. Otherwise I'm extremely happy.
1. The car should 'remember' how it was turned off last. Every time I start either have to choose or confirm driver. Just default to last driver and then I can change that if needed, but don't need that at every startup. Have to manually turn off the engine auto stop/start and manually turn on the lane centering. Just remember how it was left and these can be changed by driver if necessary. May be an ios or carplay issue but haven't had it in other vehicles & Hyundai's...it also doesn't 'remember' Pandora was playing but does bring Waze up automatically. Minor annoyances, but every time I start the car I have to go thru routine of choose/confirm driver, start pandora and choose station, turn on lane centering, turn off engine stop/start.
2. There may be a way to adjust or disable the HDA when using adaptive cruise but I haven't figured it out. It slows the vehicle way too much on curves at times. The lane change feature of the HDA is nice in concept but actually using isn't great. It works and does what it should but takes a while to execute and then is a little abrupt when it does. It also "fights" the lane centering nanny. Any sense of steering input it cancels the automated lane change and displays a warning. But total lack of input results in the warning to keep your hands on the wheel. It's much better to simply manually change lanes.
3. Speaking of the "lane centering nanny"....my 24 Santa Fe and this vehicle are annoying. Sonata, Elantra, and Tuscon we have/had used steering wheel input to determine if you got the hands on wheel warning. Our 24 Santa Fe and this one use a camera and some low hand positions make it warn you even though you are in contact with steering wheel. Not sure if it also uses wheel input but very long straight stretches of highway that require no input at all I'll typically always get the warning even though my hands (at least one anyway) on the wheel. I get why it needs to have that warning, just wish it was a little more refined or able to be adjusted to be more 'lenient'.
4. More of an observation than complaint, but still not used to location of start/stop button on right stalk. It took a long time to get used to reaching for a button vs inserting a key into steering column mounted ignition switch. Now I'm reaching for the dash-mounted button instead of this one on the stalk :)
5. Lastly, and maybe because I only ever have it in normal or eco mode, it doesn't do well with downshifting, esp at higher speeds (75mph or so). It will stay in 8th, and for slight grades it seems it should stay there but it drops a gear. But when it decides to drop a gear, it generally does so too late and then it drops 2 & sometimes 3. For steeper inclines and cruise control set, it will really wait too long, drop to 5th, but then stay there and not upshift until cresting the incline. I'm not talking about huge mountains, just moderate uphill parts of the road. For a mid-size V6 it should hold higher gears better. Our 24 Santa Fe is pretty much same weight and has the 2.5T 4 cylinder but does much better at inclines.
This is by no means a negative review. You can read all the great stuff about the 26 Palisade Calligraphy everywhere, so I'm just highlighting the handful of things I wish were different/better.
