Superb Redesign - Excellent Ride Quality

After 3 months as a first time Hyundai owner, I am very satisfied with my 2026 Palisade Hybrid Calligraphy. The build quality, interior and exterior design is both very functional, classy and superior to higher priced competitors. The responsiveness of the turbo 4 cyl is very impressive and the cabin comfort level and quietness is exceptional. Highway fuel efficiency/MPG could be improved. Overall, I thoroughly enjoy every journey I take, short or long. Great Job !!

Best SUV I’ve ever had

Going from all gas to hybrid has made such a big difference. Rather than having to fill up each week, I can go two weeks and a few days before having to fill up again. After spending time doing a bit of research, this vehicle has way more features than my previous vehicle with was only 3 yrs old. It’s very roomy and comfortable. I’ve never pushed the vehicle to see how fast it is from 0-60 only because I’m more about getting the best gas mileage. The windows are actually double pane which really reduces the outside road noise. It takes a lot to impress me and this is definitely a keeper.

Great Vehicle, a Few Opportunities

We love our Palisade Hybrid Calligraphy. We wish there were a couple of things that are not currently available. It is the most comfortable car we've ever owned and does so much so well.

Small annoyances...but overall solid

I enjoy the high mileage most, about 30 mpg. The ride is good. Comfort good. Love the headlights. Minor annoyances: 1) Rear ventilated seats...while we haven't used them yet, i don't think they're appropriate for a family car. Those little ventilation holes in the seats are already filling with crumbs and chocolate....and it's not like we're a big eat-in-the-car family, but with 3 teens and their activities, sometimes thats the only place there's time to eat. 2) I can not figure out how to NOT have the fan turn on full blast every time I turn on the car. Its really annoying. We've tried several things with no fix. 3) The garage door openers don't work on an off car. 4) No memory for seat positions on the passenger side. Really annoying when trying to use the "relaxation" feature. I use one of the memories on the driver side for this feature and it makes it so easy to switch back and forth.

Comfortable car. Some tech glitches.

Having a button to unlock the doors on the drivers exterior would be helpful instead of the hand sensor. The sensor doesn’t work well in rain. The car itself takes a little too long to accelerate quickly when merging onto a highway. My car didn’t start 4 weeks after I bought it. Turns out having the blue link on and my key fob near my car caused the battery to drain.

Dashboard Distractions

The calligraphy trim level has so many things going on that I cat stand the amount of times it dings at me. The vehicle's safety features are good but it impedes the ability to drive it your self. It constantly wants to tell you how to drive. I've only had this car for 5,000 miles and I'm ready to get rid of it.

Battery issues

I bought the vehicle on 1/19/26. The battery has died 3 times. The battery was replaced twice in the month March. The dealership refused to do a parasite test. Told the issue is that I don’t drive the vehicle enough. I’m very disappointed.

As a Palisade Calligraphy Owner I do appreciate the size of this vehicle. All of the bells and whistles are cutting edge however there are some kinks that Hyundai needs to work out. One being with the display interface and music (specifically radio and XM) as you cannot preview any song titles therefore you have to scroll endlessly through stations. Another oddity is the interior material, although an upgrade from cloth, the seats do not clean as well with all of the perforations. They should also include the center sole organizer that I bought aftermarket as it divides the deep space into two stackable sections. I have not figured out the reason why sometime the air is on full speed when I start the car and other times it is where I left it. Overall a smooth ride, maybe not quite 27mpg after have driven 2500 miles thus far but I am happy with it for the price. I do hope Hyundai improves that radio/Sirius XM glitch.

The 2026 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy is a mixed bag

On the positive side, it’s a beautiful, spacious, and incredibly comfortable SUV that feels more like a luxury vehicle than a standard family hauler. The addition of wireless CarPlay is a major plus, and the interior materials are top-notch. However, there are two significant "red flags" that make me hesitate. First, the infotainment system is a step backward; they removed the dedicated "Radio" button and replaced it with a useless "Search" function, making it far too many clicks to switch between SXM and CarPlay. Second, the new hybrid powertrain has a concerning quirk: at low speeds on an incline, the car can unexpectedly roll backward before the motor catches, which is a scary experience. It’s also frustrating that a seasoned SUV maker like Hyundai missed a basic safety sensor to keep people or objects from being pinched in the power-folding seats. While it's a great-looking car, these software and mechanical oversights are hard to ignore in a brand-new model.

Favorite car I’ve ever owned

It feels a little weird to give this review with what’s going on following the tragic incident with the young child. My personal experience with this SUV is fantastic. There is so much to love. I have the hybrid and it is fantastic to drive. My MPG isn’t what is advertised, but I live in a fairly hilly area and I’m averaging 25 MPG in a Hilary area which I think is pretty good for AWD. My kids love having the second row heated and ventilated seats. The driver assist features are fantastic. A couple minor issues, the folding feature on the second row is extremely slow when you need kids getting in and out. The wireless charger makes your phone very hot and works extremely slow slowly. I haven’t yet figured out how to use the parking assist features and the placement of that camera button is not convenient for the driver. Also, when you’re in the 360 camera mode, it makes the cars right next to you look like a giant and is actually a little difficult to use. These are minor things in a car that I absolutely love. I don’t like the way the front headlights look, but they’ve grown on me and it’s a small thing. I do really like the power folding front and second row that you can do from the display or from the truck. From me personally, that is a huge convenience that I didn’t actually think I would care about.
