Some small fixes would go a long way.
This was intended to be a city car. I am a long-distance commuter and constantly at the gas station. The car is comfortable and has all the creature comforts needed for my long commuting. The digital speedometer is unforgivable. If the screen has any issues the car will instantly be a useless pile of metal. Please provide an analog speedometer with the digital additions. There is something fundamentally off about the side mirror design causing them to fog up or be covered in water spots often. I've never had this issue with a vehicle so I can't say why this happens. The radio antenna is subpar. Android auto is just not great, I prefer echo auto for a safer hands-free engagement. The cruise control is a little pulse-y on inclines. On this list of complaints those are few, and all seem very fixable by Hyundai. The list of appreciation is longer. The size of the car is perfect. The space on the interior is set up well. The seats are comfortable. The seat warmers are great. The autostart via app with climate adjustment is the ultimate perk that makes me feel rich. The screen is clear and user friendly. My favorite button is the star set to screen-off mode. I like the physical buttons that are offered. I learned that I prefer dials to paddles, muscle memory is easy with dials, the paddles require visual attention to ensure the correct setting. I've found the center console to be very practical. I added dividers to the dash storage over the glove box to make it useful. The trunk is sized great and the full-size spare is a must for long-distance commuters like myself who are an hour away from service centers. The headlight placement is superior in that I am less harmful to my fellow drivers. The dangerous bright headlights are set low, they angle low. I did add yellow film to be even more considerate and I honestly think all dealerships should offer glare reduction lenses on every new car. The smart cruise control features are a luxury and safety improvement. I do not recommend the adaptive cruise control in cities, when someone vears every so minorly into your lane the car brakes, Hard. If someone behind you isn't on a smart control it is not likely to end well. But on my long commute out of town it works like a dream. The neoelectric yellow is my favorite, I love how bright and visible it is for my snowy drives. The car has done very well on my down-pour rainy drives, icy drives, and snowy drives. I am so pleased I didn't need to immediately upgrade my tires. I think the wheels on this model look better than the premium model. I can't speak too much about under the hood but I can check my oil, add oil (not that I've needed to), and change my battery. These are all MUSTs for me. I'm about 4,500 miles in so the car is being well-tested and so far its been excellent, other than the smaller gas tank.
