Good car, but has many flaws

The car is fine, but I had the 2021 Kova EV and this car is not nearly as good. Major issues: The mileage received on a full charge is less than my previous car, when I think EVs should be getting more efficient, not less; driver side door not opening when putting hand over handle (happens a lot and always at the most inconvenient times (when in a rush, when raining, when dark); cameras not working when frost obstructs them; brake regeneration not working for the first 20 minutes after charging car fully. Minor issues: tow cap always falling out (took my car to Hyundai and they said they fixed it which they did not), issues with the infotainment screen (doesn't stay on favorite stations each time you start car, have to hit multiple things to get to what the screen you want).

Great commuter car with outstanding comfort features

I love my Kona EV! I installed a Level 2 charger at home and aside from that upfront cost, going electric has really saved me money ($100/month to charge at home vs. $200+/month buying gas for my 60 mile round-trip commute). It's not as perky as my former car (a 2020 Mazda CX-3), but other than that, I have no complaints regarding how it drives. And the infotainment display and interior is far superior to any car I've had.

Love the drive, hate the console cluster and infotainment screen

Pleasantly surprised with the comfort and quietness of the car while driving. However, the console cluster and infotainment systems are far worse than any of the other vehicles I've driven. The console cluster is missing important info (like time) and requires too much scrolling to find the info. The infotainment system is similarly disjointed. Why can I not see the time if I want to see the HD radio info (artist and song title)? Why does Android Auto always revert to Pandora and require me to go through many steps to just listen to the radio? It's a frustrating experience in the cockpit!!

Hyundai Kona EV 2025

Overall a good car. The charging is much slower than my 2023 Kona, and I do not get as many miles on a full charge. I would also prefer to have more features like in my last car.

Kona SEL 2025 electric

General positive feedback. Missing modern capabilities like passenger seat electric adjustments, driver and passenger seat memory, heads up display, 360 deg camera view, electric trunk open/close, rear view mirror auto seam during night under exposure to headlights from the cars behind you, garage door remote, leather (or leather replacement) seats (instead of fabric). I know some of these features may be available on the next model up of the Kona electric, but there were none available and we could not place an order for it either. Could you open the system to accept orders and not force the customer to buy whatever the dealer has on the lot? The seats are not as comfortable as expected. An interesting and good feature I was not aware of is the automatic high beam/low beam control. The app has good features that work pretty well. It would be nice if you could make it such that the phone + the app be used as a key (to start the car and drive it). Oh, and the key is huge! Can we make smaller? Some of the evaluations below are too early to asses properly, I had the car only for 2 months so reliability, quality of build and service are too early to state a good opinion on.

A good choice for us

I suffer from peripheral neuropathy which makes driving a challenge. The single pedal driving and very responsive controls on this vehicle make a huge difference. Besides that, the car is plenty quick, comfortable and handles well. We chose to lease when we got the Kona to take advantage of the EV credit, which has since expired. A trouble-free year of motoring… color us happy!

Remarkably unremarkable!

Great speace, excellent quality, interior design is excellent Cost saving meaures -- hard plastic door cards, bare bones center console, no soft surfaces in any storage area -- are frustrating and lessen the experience.
