2026 SEL Ioniq 9 EV

Large internal space is a big plus providing comforts. The driving performance is satisfactory for the large size car. The app connectivity is not good, slow response. The steps to start driving need too many steps like "key fob", "start", "drive", "i-pedel". I wish to have simple steps like Tesla.

Overall positive.

I love the ride. Very smooth. Much better than our Tesla. The native mapping software is horrible. Just imitate Tesla maps. Horribly unintuitive. The battery range is WAY overstated when on a long trip. Starts at like 340 miles, and I get maybe half that. That's a BIG miss that might keep me from buying another Hyundai, considering the range was the deciding factor for us. In the end, it gets the same range as my Tesla Y. I explicitly didn't get another Tesla because they didn't have an SUV, the range wasn't quite long enough, and Musk is nuts. The Tesla is overly simple to the point it's hard to use, the Hyundai is too complex. I don't need five buttons for the cruise control on the wheel... You could do that with software. I don't need a stop/start button... I could just put it in gear. The remote is too big and the app too slow. Somewhere in between the simplicity of the Tesla and the complexity if the Ioniq9 is the sweet spot.

Absolutely love it, only reason why i give 4 stars is because the emergency break on reverse is more sensitive than whats actually needed

Cheap plastic material and poor stereo

Plastic dash materials are garbage. 70k car and the fake metal plastic interior is embarrassing. The speakers sound like trash.

The Car to Own

Love driving this car! It’s modern-looking. Big but not bulky. Fast charging and super fast with high horsepower. Great for family and for someone who just wants more room. Excellent car!

Pretty good

It’s a very nice vehicle. Overall I’d say it’s a B to B+ vehicle in comparison to other electric vehicles I’ve driven. The Tesla operating system is a lot better. However, the range is much better which is a plus. Runs smooth, it’s quiet. Not a fan of the door handles, ac vents and the steering which is quite stiff. Also, the air is the bottom half of the seat doesn’t really work. Besides that I like the vehicle, but I’d never buy it new again with the extremely drop in price in just a month that I’ve had it.

Love the comfort and space

Moved up from the Ioniq 5. A lot more space but it drives the same. Quiet. Smooth. Just a joy to drive. I love that this one has a rear window wiper. Range is excellent. It's conveniet to have the Tesla network charger although I'm glad the included the converters. The Tesla chargers seem slow in my opinion. If I had to say one negative it would be the charging door. It's a little too big when it's open and I bump into it in my smallish garage. That could be smaller. Love the car overall!

EV Dream

My wife can't stop driving it. She has a red 128i convertible that is her pride and joy, but she now drives the Ionic 9 most of the time. I do occasionally get to drive it!

Great 3 row suv for the money. Very comfortable and fun to drive. Great Road trip car. A few flaws such as auto power folding rear seats that could be a danger to small children and the windshield rake angle causes you to bump your head on entry into the front seats if you are not careful.
