Cool, but...

This is a really cool vehicle. Everywhere we drive, loads of compliments. I never expected that. Most people want to know what kind of car it is and ask about the specs , etc. So that makes me feel good about the purchase. However, this car does have it's downsides. The battery goes down too quickly. It's highly annoying to have to go to a charge point for 3-4 hours 2-3 times a week. Then there's the quicker chargers that have outrageous prices. It would help a lot if my local Hyundai had an ev station. It's utterly ridiculous that they don't. There aren't that many charging stations and even less that are actually functioning. All of which makes this vehicle feel a little burdensome. Outside of that, the car is gorgeous and super fast. The seats are very comfortable and the rear seating area is very spacious.

Amazing vehicle

This car is fantastic - drives so smooth and is super comfortable. The cabin is extremely spacious, well planned, and quiet. Backseat space is huge as well and comfortable for a large adult. Range is really great and car is easy to charge. The only negative with this car is the backup camera. The way it is placed leads to it getting messy a lot, and the position of the light bar in the rear makes it almost unusable at night.

Hyundai Ioniq 6 is the first EV I've ever owned

I came from a manual BMW 340iX and find I like the Hyundai a lot. It handles very well although I miss the steering "feel" I got in the BMW. They both have electric steering, but the Hyundai's feel is pretty numb. That said, it does handle very well in spite of the lack of feedback in the steering. Its ride is rather firm which I like, but my wife finds somewhat jarring. One thing I find mystifying in a 2025 model vehicle is the lack of wireless Apple CarPlay. Also, the driver's seat could use a little more leg bolster for longer drives.

New - GREAT so far!

WOW - love having an electric car with 342 miles of range. Super easy to keep charged. Can do long road trips, no prob. Drives quiet and smooth. Handles great. There are just a couple of small design issues, like the charging port door and the recessed pockets in the doors. It's lightning fast, even in "ECO" mode. I just leave it in that. Can't imagine what sport mode would be needed for other than outrunning a Bond villain in Rome. The real test of an automobile is time. We will see how it holds up over time. There are a lot of automated features. Several that don't need to be which is probably so they can make money replacing them when they break. The door to the charging port is about 7" diameter and is on a motor. That could have just been a simple spring and a catch. If/when that breaks there will be no way to charge the car so it will need to be repaired right away to continue using the car. That same charging port has a low valley in it that collects dirt/rain/leaves when I leave the car plugged in overnight. The door have a recessed channel that acts as a handle and a pocket. They taper to a narrow point at both ends and are awkwardly hard to clean as a result. Definitely not a deal-breaker but something that perhaps could be improved. If you get one - definitely do your research about extending battery life. Keep it between 50-75% charge as much as possible. Minimize fast charging. Avoid charging when very hot/cold. Never drain all the way and only fill to 100% when absolutely necessary. It has plenty of range so there's rarely a need. I drive all over the county in a day and can recharge with the Level 1 (110v) charger most of the time. Great performance!

Unexplained to the Consumer from the Dealership

I paid an additional cost because it was purchased from a dealership called Rick Case in Plantation. They offered some type of incentive if you paid an extra $1,800. For example, a lifetime of car washes. The issue is you have to accept in the charges above the MSRP. The HVAC works except for one central area of the vehicle that doesn't work at all. There's an orange light on top of the dash that comes on multiple times throughout the day. In addition I've had the vehicle for nearly 4 months now and I have not received the NACS adapter, which I was told that Hyundai was going to send to me to my house. They never contacted me and they never did send me anything. Sometimes to be a good does not come on. I have to step out lock the door and then reopen the car and then start the car in order for it to come back on.

no after sale support

AFTER I bought the 6, i wrote john desalvo at matthews. i asked mr desalvo two simple questions. he never wrote me back. but, while i was in the process of buying it, they certainly made a point about getting 10’s on their survey. how important it was… THEN I called the hyundai help desk. I was transferred because the CSR didn’t have any knowledge of the warning I was getting. The “specialist” i was transferred to said she didn’t have any knowledge either. but she would transfer me. she did and i was disconnected. it amazes me that i can spend 50,000 and get worse after sale service than i would if i called the help desk for a video game… or a garden tool… or a computer tablet. i am giving the lowest rating for the vehicle. not accurate, but hyundai hasn’t earned my opinion
