Excellent Driving Experience with Some Safety and Design Concerns
Overall, I am very satisfied with my 2026 Genesis GV70 2.5T Advanced AWD and truly enjoy driving it. The vehicle delivers a smooth, comfortable, and confident driving experience with excellent ride quality, handling, and a true luxury feel. The interior quality, quiet cabin, and overall refinement reflect the high standards of the Genesis brand.
While the overall experience has been very positive, there are a few areas that could be improved. The center console controls for seat ventilation, navigation, radio, and media are positioned too low, requiring the driver to take their eyes off the road to make adjustments, which can be distracting and raise safety concerns. These controls would be safer and more user-friendly if they were placed higher or more fully integrated into the main infotainment screen.
Another concern involves the reverse mirror tilt feature. Although there are separate left and right mirror selector buttons, both mirrors tilt down simultaneously regardless of which button is selected. This eliminates the ability to choose a single mirror when reversing and makes the left and right selection unnecessary from a design and engineering standpoint.
Additionally, I have noticed that during self-service car washes, water enters the vehicle through the lower portion of the rear trunk door (liftgate). This appears to come from the bottom area of the rear door seal. This is concerning from a quality and weather-sealing standpoint, as water intrusion should not occur during normal car washing.
Despite these concerns, the Genesis GV70 remains an excellent luxury SUV, and I offer this feedback respectfully in hopes of contributing to future improvements in safety, usability, and build quality for an already outstanding vehicle.
