The GV70 is great. The dealer network is awful.

I really like my GV70 and enjoy driving it. So far it has been reliable although some over the air updates have been problematic. My real concern is the terrible dealer network. Sales people don't know the car and had to "google" my questions during purchase. The dealer that I purchased from 2 years ago has since lost/given up their franchise because they didn't build a stand alone dealership. I had to wait two months to get an oil change/tire rotation appt at another nearby dealership. I receive better consistent service at Acura and will probably return to them for my next car.

Without doubt, the best in it’s class

From the handsome exterior, to the sumptuous interior, this car is without equal in its class. Add to that, superb road manners, impressive performance and ultimate comfort and it has them all. I’ve owned Audis, Mercedes’ and a Porsche, but none equal my Genesis.

Generally good.

Mostly satisfied, but some disappointments. I am a man of few words, so what I submitted will have to suffice. Keep trying to make them better, but also try to reduce the cost and environmental impact. Better fuel mileage is always a plus. Thanks for listening.

Several issues

The vehicle is very good in terms of luxury and performance. But in our case, we had two major problems: 1. We ran out of power and had to take the car back twice to repair . 2. We lost air conditioning and had to pay for Freon refills. It's issue had the same experience to four freiends. The car was leased, everything was included, but charge the service

My Car

Great Vehicle - Problems getting them serviced. I had several Genesis vehicles. The vehicles are very good getting one serviced at the dealership where I purchased the vehicle is a hassle. It's like traveling back to the 50's and 60's where someone like me is supposed to act subservient to the workers at the dealership.

Fun to drive, but expect turbo lag, seats uncomfortable

Pros: tight handling, versatility as a hatchback design, attractive interior, Infotainment screen sits high enough you don't have to look down or away from the road to see it, good gas mileage, reasonably peppy, lots of safety features. Cons: the mesh seats in the sport prestige model are terrible, every little bit of lint falls down into them, plus they are very uncomfortable if wearing shorts or a dress, good quality leather would be a massive improvement. The seats alone would prevent me from buying this car again. Turbo lag can be up to 2 seconds. Occasionally there is no turbo lag, but you have to anticipate a long lag for safety. This would also be a show stopper for buying the car again. Using sports mode does not help with turbo lag. The back seat area is too small for anyone over 5' tall and intolerable for tall passengers. Navigation system doesn't show traffic unless you set a destination, and then it only shows traffic in the route it selects. Nav also sometimes sets routes that are much longer than needed. The lane warning goes off when you haven't left your lane, but doesn't sometimes when you do. It also goes off when you are in a left turn lane. It would be an improvement if it was more consistent and was just the steering wheel vibrating instead of a sound. Sometimes an OTA update resets everything on the car to factory and you have to waste 20" setting preferences again.

Great car but subpar service

Great car with a subpar network of dealers that don’t have the ability to provide great service. The lack of Genesis dedicated dealers in most cities means that you are stuck with Hyundai type of service. Not the service of a luxury brand. This car competes with BMW and Mercedes but the service is not up to part with those brands.

Well built

Well built very solid vehicle, handles as well as a BMW. I have issues with some of the electronic features and the drivers manual doesn't explain them very thoroughly. Everything functions as it should, the only thing I do not like is the fingerprint recognition program. I find it totally unnecessary and a waste of time. Needs to be done away with. My previous vehicles (BMW's) recognized you with your key as this vehicle should.

What a special car!

I love the riding comfort of this car plus the great style. The burgundy color is so special. I feel that luxury car companies are sticking too much with boring colors! My only complaint is because of where I live I had not been able to take advantage of the concierge service until recently. Thank you Owings Mills! I have had an issue and have been without my car for 2 weeks because of shaking due to needing the clamps on the engine block

The experience of driving genesis is the best

I’m pleased with the genesis gv70 I like almost everything about it,I think it’s a nice ride and I get lots of compliments on the gv70 it’s very comfortable for an suv als has a lot of good features and the genesis service plan at Burns Genesis service is as good as I ever had on any car I ever owned

Not worthy of a $55,000 price tag

I should have bought a regular Hyundai or stayed with Infiniti. The ride in this vehicle is ok but not the smoothest. The steering is too loose for me. I realize it's not a sports car even though it has "sport" mode but I don't like feeling like I have to press the gas pedal almost to the floor to get it to really go. I get lots of complements on the look of the car but when asked how I like it I just tell them it's an okay vehicle.

Well made car/suv

Vehicle has held up very well with little or no issues. Comfortable and fun to drive as well as safe in all regards. The interior is bar far luxurious and well apportioned. would definitely buy again and have encouraged my relatives to purchase and they have.

GV70 is stunning and fun to drive

I drove an LS430 Lexus for many years and I'll never leave Genesis. The GV70 is so much fun to drive and draws a lot of attention on the road. People stop me all the time and ask if I like the car. No, I tell them - I love it! Took the vehicle on a five-week car trip and it was so comfortable to drive and as a passenger. Can't say enough good things about my beautiful GV70. It's an excellent value for the money and the dash is easy to read and has lots of features.

An above average assessment with some constructive criticisms. This is a great car car overall. Nothing is perfect however. I would buy one again. And after an accident, I in fact bought another GV70. It was a perfect fit for a shorter senior lady!

Mostly love car, not so much service

1. Get rid of touch screen controls. Too distracting. 2. When parked, don't open side view mirrors until door handle is touched. If I'm parked close to another car and their mirrors don't retract, I have to squeeze between their mirror and my recently extended one. 3. When I get car back from service, I find most of my settings replaced by whoever worked on the car. What a pain. I checked the tire pressures after service and they were WAY off according to the tire pressure monitoring system (two times).

SUV that has everything

This suv has everything you need plus more. Love it! It is great that service comes with the vehicle and they even come pick up your car and drop off a loaner car. The technology is amazing in the automobile. Love how you can upload the new software by yourself.

Fun to drive

Love my new Genesis GV70, looks, drive, get up n go, this car has it all! Steer clear of the mat finish, a process new to Genesis and clearly one they have not perfected. Dealer gave us a special soap, Dr Beasley’s, for mat finish paints. After a couple of hand washes, there was a build up of a sticky residue over the entire car, including the windshield that even with a professional detailing, could not be removed. The finish now has streaks in it that will not go away. Despite an extended bumper to bumper warranty, Genesis is not accepting any responsibility and no one, including the professional detailer, claims to have seen anything like this before. Hummm…. Only one product ever used on the car… a product given to us by the dealer… something is not adding up.

2023 Genesis GV70 Review

Overall this is a fantastic vehicle. The value is perhaps the best in class, probably the best period. Genesis offers a lot of bang for the buck. This is a performance luxury SUV. I often tell my friend it is an SUV that thinks it is a sport car. Wonderful blend of style and performance.

Luxury SUV flaws

While we are still exited about our 2023 Genesis GV70 Sport Prestige, we are also disappointed. The vehicle has 18,100 miles! Let’s start with the headlights. During a December 2024 rain storm I drove my GV70. We hardly ever take it in the rain or bad weather, but this time we did. When I parked the vehicle in the garage, the left light housing was filled with water. I called the dealer, they inspected the lights and ordered a new part. In mid February the light was in and a part for the seat cooling/heating (from September 2024) had also come in. The dealer picked up the vehicle. It was returned in the afternoon, and they tell me they did a gasoline pump replacement, when I asked why, when this was done in August, they said it was a recall. The inside of vehicle smelled like gasoline. They said it would disappear in a few days. A week later, it still smelled like gasoline. I called the dealer and they said to wait a few more days, I said no! When they took the vehicle to replace the light, it smelled like “new”! They need to take it and clean the gasoline smell. Now my vehicle smells like carpet shampoo instead of new! The front windshield…. The smallest stone hits the glass and it cracks! We have a 2003 Ford Taurus, a 2005 Town & Country, a 2007 Suzuki SX4, a 2014 Lexus CT200h, non of these vehicles have cracked windshields! They are all over 120,000 miles some with 180,000 and have traveled all over the country, yet their windshields are intact! I believe the Genesis glass is of lower quality, even though we paid premium dollars for it!
