Looks great, fun to drive, controls are well thought out

Beautiful exterior design. Very comfortable interior, especially in front, as rear space is a bit tight for a six footer. Controls are thoroughly thought out. Performance from the base engine is as good as I could want. Handling is tight and braking is solid. The cargo area holds all of my golf equipment, beach chairs and cooler, or plenty of suitcases. The only major drawback is mediocre fuel mileage. The auto start/stop feature does not work very well, so many owners disable it. Wireless charging causes a phone to overheat so I disabled it.

GREAT VEHICLE

Great driving vehicle, great for trips! I had one issue since owning the vehicle, where it developed a knocking/popping sound. Dealership did a great job in confirming, identifying, and then resolving the issue of a loose bolt on the skid plate.

Excellent vehicle, infotainment system needs refinement and bug fixes

Great vehicle overall. Main issue is infotainment system. 1. Fingerprint sensor is horrible, seldom if ever works on first attempt. 2. When I switch profile from my wife's profile, it takes forever to change. I'm not going to wait 30-45 seconds while the profile changes. Generally I'm driving and have to hit the map or radio button to get it to where it looks like its trying to change profile. This is not the user experience I expected with a Genesis vehicle.

I absolutely love my GV70, but can it be better?

As stated in the title, I absolutely love my GV70. I have had it for 2 years and it is a great car. I will, however, admit that there have been a few instances where the car hasn't performed the way I would expect a 2-year old luxury car with less than 48,000 miles would have. A few examples..... 1. There has been a dull, but nagging sound (I think from the drivers side door) that occurs when I am driving. Not always, but on occasion. 2. The back hatch rarely opens the first time I push the button by the windshield wiper. 3. Sometimes when I turn off the car, the car battery light turns on and it makes this steady noise. I have to turn the car on in order to then turn the car back off. All of these seem surprising for a luxury level car and one that is pretty early in its useful life.

Technology is awful

Technology is not good, dealership is clueless about dealing with technology issues. My 2023 Genesis was supposed to have internet capabilities, does not. Car play only works about 80% of the time. Door lock doesn’t always respond to fob, it recognizes that it is there because the side mirrors open, car door won’t unlock 10-20% of the time.
