2007 Cadillac Escalade ESV
My Escalade has been a wonderful auto/truck for me. I say truck because I treat it like an enclosed pickup. I carry large items, 4 by 8 plywood, 12 foot lumber inside and on the roof often. I have even carried 20 foot pipe by driving over it and suspending it from the front tow hook, and the back trailer hitch, driving with the pipe 10 inches off the road. In 120,000 miles I have had little trouble with the engine, other than serpentine belt wear, and an oil leak; I have had to replace brake disks and pads twice, and need it again, but that may be because of my heavy foot. Front suspension seems to be weakly engineered, as it gets noisy after 50,000 miles and requires replacement shocks.
No big matter though.. Overall I would not be without a suburban or Escalade.
I favor the Escalade over the Chevy or GMC because its lighting is vastly superior, (I have had three Chevy or GMS suburbans in the past) Also the extra 10 horsepower and the exhaust sound (strong, notable) are welcome. To top it off,the Escalade styling is just better than the others.
Oh, one weakness: the front seats are smaller than previous years, too narrow, with insufficient bolsters right and left. Makes you feel like you will slide off in a tight turn. Older suburbans had larger, more comfortable seats that grab your butt better! Again, still, Love my car/truck. just like Sand Lake Auto.
