Service Department
Can't seem to get ahold of anyone in service besides the front desk. Every time I ask for an estimated time of completion they put me on hold and eventually end up hanging up on me. It has been like this for the past month and a half. May be the worst service department I have ever had to work with. Wouldn't recommend them to anyone and will definitely not be coming back nor will I buy a car from this dealership.

Do not try and setup an appointment
They are scheduling out for months. Had to call the GM to get my titanium warranty benefits fulfilled.

Major Engine problem / check engine light
Engine noises, check engine light. I was told the soonest appointment to review was mid-late January. I then took it to a smaller shop to diagnose the check engine light. I was told that there was a major engine problem and to take it to an authorized Hyundai shop immediately.

Upon calling Stew Hansen Hyundai again, I was told that unless it is "smoking" they wouldn't be able to check the condition until January 17th. After I shared that I was told the car was unsafe to drive, and that it was under warranty, I was told again that unless the car was "smoking" they wouldn't check it sooner than mid-January.

Finance manager is out of touch.
I was at this dealership to purchase a 2022 Elantra. When it came time to finalize the deal, I wanted to use my lifelong bank for my loan. I prefer to use the credit union for all of my loans to keep things simple.

The finance manager wanted to know why I wouldn't finance thru them. They indicated they could match the interest rate but again; I prefer my credit union.

I asked if I could write a check for the price of the car to hold until my credit union check arrived in a day or two or I offered to give them a cash downpayment. The finance manager said he won't hold cars. I said I would have an approved loan right away and if I showed him the approval would he hold the car until my check arrived in a day or two. He said in his two years, he has never held a car for anyone.

My personal belief is he was trying to strong arm me into financing thru them. I served in the military for 22 years and bought cars from all of the country. I have always purchased cars with the dealership holding the car on my word or me providing them with a downpayment and/or a personal check for the car until my check arrived.

He claimed that he didn't need to hold it because it's the only one they have. What difference does that make? If it's his only one then he can be pretty certain it will likely sell in the near future- had he agreed to hold the car for a day or two it would have been a guarantee sale today. I wasn't even asking to take it off the lot- just asking to hold it until I could get the check from my bank.

I felt bad for the salesman but I do not appreciate the finance manager's approach. Not a fan of them trying to force me to finance thru them. I wonder what his commission is on loans he sells?

I just bought my car over a month ago. The Blue Link has never worked and I even paid for a 2 year package. Very upsetting and wished I had not purchased this car. I have made 4 phone calls with over a 20 minute wait time and emailed. I have two case numbers and told they will call you in 3-5 days. No follow up. I really regret this purchase and wish I could return it. Supposed to be bumper to bumper warranty quoted by salesman however very concerning if this is the service that I will be getting.
