Not terrible, definitely young and learning the ropes still

Found Erik when he was mobile mechanic, but he doesn’t do that anymore, he’s at a shop in Roseville. He’s young and works hard when he works. I like the kid and liked having a mechanic I thought I could trust, but last few repairs have had some inconsistencies in his work professionally. Due to his office work side of the business lacking, I now question his labor side of the work. Make sure you ask for written quote and invoice after work is done to compare. I had a few of his quotes that double and even tripled in what he quoted for total price originally, but yet parts and labor didn’t change. And invoices had to be requested multiple times after work completed. I expect price change if more labor/parts required and I understand costs of goods have increased in recent years, but the quote given should be updated to current pricing of market prices for parts and labor. Gave him another chance to have final price higher than what was quoted again. I was looking for someone new already when I had an urgent job that I asked him if he could do and he agreed and coordinated times, but then he no showed and had a laxidaisal response with no remorse for agreeing to the job and then leaving me stranded. I think unfortunately he just got too comfortable on the personal and forgot to keep business the priority for business matters. He’s young, he has let personal mix into business quite a bit in recent times and hasn’t quite got a handle on the ropes of professionalism yet. He definitely has the potential to go as far as to own his own shop someday. He could get there, but in the mean time I’m going to find another mechanic with a little more years of experience or a young man with different life priorities at the moment.
