Thanks to Ben White Automotive, my car runs with the same performance today as it did when it came off the lot 20 years ago. Every town has a "mechanic's mechanic," and Ben White Auto is Austin's. I wouldn't trust my car with anyone else. The turnaround from diagnostic to completion is lightning fast, which I attribute to their deep expertise and ability to source stuff. I've gotten excellent tips from Gary on how to maintain and get better performance out of my car, too. You can spend your time and money on service centers that don't know crap, will sell you crap, and never fix the problem (having forgotten the original mission). Or you can go to Ben White Auto, which is the real deal. They also keep an accessible online running profile of work done, plus a schedule of maintenance. They are both old school and new school when and where it matters.

Great people - Great service
Gary and the guys are good a t what they do. They always do a good job and at a good price. I have worked with them for over 10 years and they have always taken care of my repair or replacement needs.

I have been using this shop sense i moved to Austin 2 years ago and gary and graham have always been straight with me and done a excellent job these guys are truly a blessing. Gary is always helpful and Graham is a awesome mechanic

GREAT auto shop!
If you're looking for a suto shop in South Austin that provides quality care, is upfront about your issue, and works in a timely manner while communicating with you throughout the process then this is the place! First time I came, had to get my car towed here and was told they wouldn't take a look until Friday as that was the soonest appointment. I arrived minutes before they closed, and got assisted and was told there was no issue getting my
car towed here that same day. Gary reached out to me Thursday and told me I needed a new battery, alternator and thermostat. He got my extended warranty info, and got it covered. My car was ready to get picked up by Saturday. Second time, dropped by to see if they had availability this week for an oil change, and they accommodated me into the schedule for Friday morning. I've found my home auto shop at Ben White Automobile!

Clutch mechanics
My truck rental broke down. It needed a new starter and my family were stranded in Austin. We had intended to drive home to Houston that day. My wife found Ben White automotive and spoke to Gary. He said they were busy with other cars, but since it was an emergency, he got it done the same day! Gary and Graeme definitely came through so that my family could make it home. They take care of their customers and if I lived in Austin, they would be my go-to shop for car work. Gary has some great stories about growing up in Houston too!
