The Best Auto Repair Service Shop in Wilmington
As a long term customer of Green Meadows, I am happy to give this shop “two thumbs up.” Besides the knowledgeable and positive engagement by Stephanie and Daniel in reception, these two pros can help determine what is needed to resolve the issue and then schedule the service. Billy and his teammates in the service bays are among the best in town. Billy has worked on my vintage car several years and always delivered a “better car” afterwards. Good service is not cheap but GM’s prices are fair and reasonable. I trust and appreciate this honest company, its dedicated team, and their excellent service to keep our family cars on the road.

My experience

They did so much extra diagnosing everything possible that was wrong with it EXCEPT for what i brought it for.. the FIRST $155.00(That’s what I was quoted over the phone to find out what needed to be fixed, has/fueling issues.... She ABSOLUTELY knew the issue that I was having before i dropped it off because SHE asked a bunch of questions… Only cut off after getting GAS, happens after I reFUEL, GAS pump clicks while I’m getting GAS…SHE could've told me then that they had to drop the GAS tank, SHE didn’t until they had my vehicle for almost a day… she calls and tells me that it would be an extra money $240.00….Just to tell me what I had asked about (THE ONLY THING I ASKED ABOUT OR WANTED CHECKED OUT OR REPAIRED) I had to agree, I had to pay $90.00 to get it towed there, so I was under the assumption that it was still not drivable… Come to find out he had drove it after it sat there over the weekend waiting for the appointment that was scheduled 4 days after I had it towed there. So we’re at $$395.00 just diagnostic at this point. and it was drivable, could have come and got it but I’m in $400 deep at this point. found out after the fact). Then they didn't even take any of that MONEY for just the DIAGNOSTIC FEE off my repair. Then I get the call that it is the charcoal canister and they already have my gas tank dropped anyway so they won’t charge me labor but the part is over $250… (Look it up online CHARCOAL CANISTER for a 2006 Kia Sorento -you can get a brand new part for $50- $75 at most) and broke my plastic piece that holds my dimmer switch, told me to come back before 4pm, (Im having to work overtime at this point) that I wasn’t putting it back in correctly (not true, a friend has purchased a piece to fix it ) That's what really happened so tell me how I'm supposed to feel? Anyway a $75 part cost me $600 dollars and took 4 days, they couldn’t move my car up even though I had it towed there 5 days earlier. I have attached pictures below. My personal advice… go somewhere else first.. and second. Just avoid if at all possible. They quoted me $240.00 to get my AC inspected while they already had my vehicle there and had paid for the repairs. Needless to say she said that the $240 diagnostic fee would not be taken off the repair bill. So I absolutely would not go through with another nightmare. Thank God I didn’t… I went to JS AND J AUTO in WILMINGTON this week to get my AC serviced and repaired. They charged $125 to diagnose and fix, I needed an extra part fixed, they went above and beyond, took the $125 diagnostic fee off of my repairs, offered me a cheaper replacement part, if I wanted it, an after market part, saved me a couple hundred dollars and replaced my condenser, the lines, cleaned out everything and recharged it…. Best experience and customer service ever… Got an excellent deal, they offered to pick me up and my AC is so cold sometimes you have to turn it off or you will freeze. So there is a happy ending to my story thanks to JS AND J AUTO.
The $600 for a charcoal canister in a 06 Kia at Green Meadows Auto, single woman’s nightmare. Stephanie did not want to work with me at all, she was really rude going back and forth with me on text messages after the fact. The owner did try to reach out after that but I have nothing to say to a business that takes advantage of people. Note : I was NEVER ugly or said anything out of the way, I wasn’t raised that way. I’m southern girl from NC where I was raised people didn’t take advantage of each other and handshakes actually meant something. That’s just my two cents. I have pictures of invoice if anyone needs them just message me.

Not going back
This is long, but lots of info. Brought in my car for my second oil change. Just like the first appointment I got a list of things that they “suggested” I needed to have done. On that list was a new rear wiper and changing the engine air filter and the cabin air filter. I said I would take care of those items myself. Now at my second appointment I’m told I still need to have those items replaced. I asked if they looked at the filters and the wiper and she said no, she was basing it off of the fact that Carfax did not report that they had been change. When I told her I changed them her answer was that if I did it myself it was not reported to Carfax 👀Also I was sent pictures of my battery and was told it was in bad shape and needed to be replaced, this was marked urgent. Then I was called and i explained that my battery was replaced in the last 2 years. She then said the battery in my car was from 2019. My car is a 2021 so that’s impossible. Keep in mind she said those are the same batteries that they installed. I called the mechanic that installed the battery and was told is was a 2023 battery and they would replace it for free under warranty. When I called back to say I was all set she said she called the battery company and they confirmed what my former mechanic told me and said she could get it warrantied but I would have to pay almost $50 for labor. It seems like they are trying to sell things that they are not even looking at. So I paid $97.45 for an oil change and I think that will be my last visit there.

Routine maintenance for daughter’s vehicle
I have been going to Green Meadows for many years. The thing that kept me going there was the honesty of their employee Dave. He always told me what the problem was and never made me do more than was necessary to my car, but always kept safety first. Although Dave isn’t there anymore his legacy is. Stephanie is definitely also a reason why I keep coming back. Caring and kind and very helpful. They stand behind their work.

Always a Pleasure

Pre-purchase inspection
Stephanie was great! She called me 3 different times to explain, update, and review the results of the inspection I had ordered on a vehicle I was ready to purchase. It identified a needed $3,600 oil leak repair! Dodged a bullet! I highly recommend Stephanie and Green Meadows Automotive. Very professional and thorough!

State Auto Inspection
I forgot twice to bring my truck for my appointment. They just rescheduled me and were nice about it. Some shops would have been rude gave me attitude. Plus they adressed some preventative items I would not have thought about
