Communication is Lacking
Staff at the dealership did not inform me that the oil change multi-point inspection revealed several areas needing immediate attention. I could have had the dealership perform that work. Instead I came into the dealership to pick up my vehicle thinking no immediate work was necessary as the dealership only told me the vehicle was ready for pickup.

Engine Replacement
Back in September we started having issues with a "check engine" light going on. We brought the car in for service and our Service Advisor, Doug King had a diagnostic test run. Over the next couple of month's we had the same issue several times with the check engine light. Although this was very frustrating, Doug got us in immediately for service which was appreciated since the wait time for service appointments is running about 7 to 10 days.

On 12/8/21 the check engine light came on again and the car started losing power during acceleration. Doug was able to get the car in for service the next day and the mechanics determined that the engine was going bad and would have to be replaced.

Thankfully at the time we purchased the car we also purchased the Platinum Hyundai Protection plan which is going to cover the replacement of the engine. By noon that day, Doug had contacted and received the ok for the engine replacement and had arranged for a loaner car for us to use. This was extremely important to us because it may take several month's for delivery of the new engine and my wife and I would have been very limited with what we had for transportation.

I have had previous contacts with Doug as a Service Advisor in addition to this issue. I have found Doug to be very professional, easy to communicate with and always sympathetic to our needs. Most of the time Service Advisors are dealing with people frustrated with car issues, myself included. Doug is able to make that experience less stressful which is very important to the customer.

In the near future we will probably be purchasing a new car. In addition to the car itself, the quality of the service department is equally important. We have had other previous issues with our 2015 Hyundai but because of people like Doug King, Hyundai will still be a serious choice for us when we research and then decide on our next car.

Vehicle history
When doing a vehicle check please make sure they show you a history of what has been done, after my vehicle's engine was replaced we did a full flush and later when I got a oil change done a fluid flush was needed again! Just irritated that they dont look up what has been done on your vehicle.

15,000 Mile Service - not clearly communicated
If you drop your car off for one of the major mile stone services (15k, 30k, etc.) make sure you want the service and understand why THAT service. They never indicated to me this could be optional, which I guarantee it is, they just wanted the $400 sale. Really irritated.
