Excellent Car
There’s really nothing to not like about the 2018 GTI. Looks are a very subjective thing but I’m a fan. The interior is second to none outside of luxury cars. It’s sporty with plenty of horsepower and the torque is really amazing. It also makes an excellent everyday driver that’s comfortable with plenty of space and good fuel economy. Even though it has a turbo the 2018 model can use 87 octane fuel something my previous 2015 GTI couldn’t do although I still use 93. I have the autobahn model and it’s nicely equipped with navigation, heated leather seats, sunroof, dual climate control, premium Fender audio, adaptive cruise control, rain sensing wipers, adaptive automatic high beam LED headlights, LED fog lights & interior lighting, automatic parallel parking, blind spot monitoring, lane assist, adjustable shocks via button and more! The only thing I don’t care for are the wheels. I replaced them with upgraded 19” matte black flow forged Stance wheels and the difference is night and day. They look so much better and I’ve gotten a lot of complements on the looks and one person even offered to buy them from me just after I put them on ahhh haha! There’s also so many little things that add up like auto locking fuel door, hydraulic hood, backup camera underneath the VW logo, sound deadening material to make the cabin quiet, doors that sound solid and make a great noise when closing I could go on. This might possibly be the best car I’ll ever drive it’s really tough to beat because it has so much going for it. Other cars may have more room or more horsepower but they have serious compromises the Volkswagen GTI really compromises nothing. I couldn’t imagine how quick the R is then again another added bonus is the GTI is highly tunable and can easily meet or exceed a Golf R in horsepower and torque with a simple computer flash it’s unreal.
