Overall the car is great.

While the car rides beautifully there are some issues. When we picked the car up we noticed that a piece behind the passenger side seat was broken. When we pointed it out they said bring it back in and they would fix it. We did, they did not fix it, it is still broken. Also, after owning the car for 3 weeks a piece of the top rack literally flew off the car while we were driving down the expressway and we were told that was't covered. So literally pieces will brake off the car while driving so there are some definite issues with it. Also, at times if you are wearing sunglasses while driving the car will start beeping for 2-3 minutes saying it needs to see your eyes to make sure you are awake. Definitely not ideal. But besides that it has been great.

So Much Potential

This car has checked nearly all of my boxes. I have 2 teen kids. There is enough room for their sports equipment and enough room to bring friends with us on adventures (not room for both). Amazing gas mileage. The car surges sometimes when accelerating and the paint job on one panel is terrible (it looks like the pain gun was running out so the paint is splattered). To fix the paint, they'd have to take the whole front grill off and I don't think I want to open that can of worms, so it'll just have to stay. But overall, I've been incredibly happy with the functionality of the car. The cup holders are big enough for the large style bottles. Driver safety options are great but can be incredibly annoying (the car locks up when you're trying to back up with a cooler hitch or in a parking garage). I drove a 2010 prior so all the technology upgrades were mind blowing. I love streaming from my phone. Switching back and forth between Bluelink (to listen to XM radio) and the phone (to navigate) can be annoying though. Speaking of Bluelink, I have locked my keys in my car twice (which you aren't supposed to be able to do) and I've had my car show "locked" on the Hyundai app when it was unlocked. So just be aware of that. This sounds like a lot of complaints, but finding a car that gets good gas mileage and has room for a family, at a reasonable price, was a struggle.

Great value and features

The Santa Fe limited edition hybrid has all the features we need, great gas mileage and comfortable. The 0% financing is great too! We are thinking about upgrading our 2024 Tucson to get a second Santa Fe!

Great Car, smooth ride

Great Hybrid SUV but Questionable Build Quality

Overall, the Santa Fe Hybrid is a great vehicle with plenty of features on the Calligraphy trim. The MPG and performance have been very good; I've been hitting the advertised MPG for the AWD version consistently. The interior is good with a very intuitive design; I also greatly appreciate the double pad chargers as well as all the storage compartments. With the Calligraphy trim the leather seats are super comfortable with the Nappa leather. I do wish however the there was less glossy plastic trim pieces on the inside on the dashboard. Unfortunately, when it comes to the build quality there is a lot more to be desired; not long after purchase I noticed the driver side interior door handles had some minor paint issues that looked like it wasn't painted properly at the factory. In order to fix it would require replacing both of them. Also, the passenger B pillar interior trim was not properly installed at the factory either. There was a tab on the lower trim part that was bent sticking out where it was not properly latched on to the top trim piece. Both pieces had to be replaced with new ones since they were damaged during factory installation. The same B pillar also has an intermittent rattle noise when going over road imperfections which is very distracting and annoying. The dealership I took it to has been unable reproduce it and I will have to take it back when the weather is colder since the issue is more pronounced under colder temperatures. If not for the build quality issues this would be a near perfect SUV, I hope Hyundai is able to do some QA control at the Montgomery plant because a lot of these build issues should have been easily prevented and/or identified before shipping the vehicle out to the dealer. It's very bittersweet buying such an expensive vehicle with a lot of these small issues that sour what should be an exciting new ownership experience.
