Very comfortable SUV with room for adults in the 3rd row
This is our first Hyundai and our first new car in over 10 years. It is a larger SUV than our previous and bigger than we 'needed' but my wife loved the ride quality and the heft of this vehicle made her feel safe driving down the road. We'd looked at other models in this extended family to include Genesis and Kia. We felt the Palisade was the optimal blend of comfort and value with acceptable puts/takes from the other siblings. Comfort of the seating, roomy interior and ride quality are among the favorites. Power to accelerate onto the freeway or tow a load is also a plus. This vehicle feels larger than I expected it to, but not in a bad way. Upgrading from a 2 row to 3 row SUV has been somewhat of a surprise. When folding the 3rd row for larger cargo needs, I often overlook we still have room for 4 adults (we have 2nd row captain chairs).
All of our driving since purchase has been within 75 mile radius of home. I look forward to a longer trip where the comfort will be more appreciated.
Our least favorite item would be the technology features. Not to say they don't work, but figuring out how they work is not very intuitive. Dealer support of the features is hit/miss. Fortunately the internet helps answer. Also, it is sadly disappointing to see features that have been commonplace on most brands for 3+ years to be unavailable on ours because it might make the Genesis feel less special. Wireless CarPlay and power folding side mirrors come to mind. Lane keep assist is standard, to support those that don't pay attention to the road, having driver profiles linked to the key fob is not. I am not impressed with the paint quality. Doesn't have much depth and it appears to be easily scratched. In a word, thin.
