A true road master!
Bought this several years ago as a one owner car. Absolutely love this car! Its big, but not overbearing, and so comfortable to drive. Love road trips in this car. With a V-8, you won't expect great gas mileage, but with 140,000+ miles on it I could still get from Seattle to Green Bay on 3 tanks of gas!
One 'power stop' on the freeway told me everything I needed to know: it totally hugged the road and stopped very quickly without having to 'manhandle' the event.
Doesn't turn on a dime in these narrow parking lots so I look for spots a bit wider when I can, but I've never been stuck or cornered working my way out of a tight squeeze.
The one drawback is the blind spot on the rear passenger side when backing up. I keel the middle split seat folded in half so that isn't a problem.
I've driven in snow, in hail, heavy downpours, and 109 heat. Never an issue, even in the heat after running it all day. (Did replace the tires, however. The extended high heat dried the residual oils right out of the tires!)
Never had to put it in 4-wheel to get around in the snow, even in the hills. Always in front wheel drive, without an issue.
Maintenance and repairs have been consistently routine, with repairs being very minimal for this 18 year old car. It still runs great, everything still works, and I expect it will continue to do so for quite some time.
Did I mention I'm a 75 year old female? Those of you who are similarly in that category and considering a similar Yukon, just do it! You'll feel safe, for sure!
