Superior vehicle with quirks
Amazing vehicle and I'm glad I have it. This truck will last the rest of my life. But there are some quirks about it. The batteries just died without warning- jumping the batteries ended up being a bad spark-fest so had to have it towed at $426, ouch! Two new batteries were another $600 - double ouch!! There have been other electrical oddities too detailed to mention here. For a big truck outward visibility is not great- several blind spots. It's not a "dually" but being a one ton it hauls virtually anything. I've had as high as 27 MPG. Hauling a 7,000 lb. travel trailer, flat road and no wind going 70 mph I'll get 12 MPG. With hills, winds, etc. I've been getting 9 MPG which I think is amazing for such a large and powerful truck. The Duramax has been excellent except for when I had to replace the original glow plugs- no problems since. The engine is quiet for a diesel. The ride is comfortable empty or fully loaded with an excellent interior. And in the metallic brown color it's a darn good looking truck.
