Chevy Astro
We've owned a 2001 Chevy Astro, since 2005. In spite of many long, hard miles hauling heavy loads, it continues to run well, with no major breakdowns such as engine, transmission, alternator, water pump, a.c., etc. All major systems are working after almost 200k miles. It has plenty of power and torque, AND it gets good gas milage considering the amount of weight we haul.
My only complaints are: (1) the door components (handles, window motors and switches, sirvos, and electronic locks) have been plagued with problems - -$1,000 worth over time, and (2) they no longer make this vehicle! I'd love to replace it due to its age, and eventual demise, but nobody makes a mid-size van anymore. All the choices out there are either too big or too small for our needs. I would definitely purchase a 2018 Astro, if they would make it! Meanwhile, we will keep maintaining this one.
