Did not deliver what he promised and was dishonest about it
I paid $18,000 for a 2005 Dodge 4wd diesel to be built with a crated 5.9 Cummins engine and a new 6 spd. as told by Kode, it would basically be a new truck and finished in three months. Instead it took 18 months. He said he completely built the engine himself because he said he couldn't get one due to supply storages. I received a engine that the top end had been redone, the bottom had not, and had years of thick grease covering the pan bolts indicating it had never been taken off and had a clanking noise in it, which appears to be a wrist pin which will require the motor be pulled and now basically has to be rebuilt to fix it. Both the 4wd driveshaft and the fan shroud was missing. Hoses were tied with wire through the radiator, the alternator failed, the battery wires were bad and caused the battery to blow up, it has lift and fuel pump problems, a bad steering gear, loose motor mounts, the emergency was bad which froze the rear axle, the suspension track bar was bad. The left front axle joint was bad, as many other problems. I've been forced to go to another mechanic who has fix some of the issues and he has photographed and documented the problems. I test drove it with Kode a few days after picking it up and he denied hearing the clanking noise. We told him about the alternator, the blown up battery and he did not do anything about it. I asked for the driveshaft and fan shroud, but he did not return any text or messages until recently when he left a message, because he heard I was filing with the Colorado Attorney General's Office and The Better Business Bureau and seeking legal ramifications. Clearly because of his dishonesty and previous inaction I will not allow him to work on the truck again. To date the truck has been only driven 327.9 miles and has been in the shop the rest of the time. I am afraid to drive it in fear of causing more damage to it.
