Paid to have a diagnostic for a specific issue. Per diagnostic and shop recommendation, vehicle was worked on, once vehicle was "fix" per their own diagnostic and recommendation, vehicle was ran and discovered there were further repairs needed. Had to pay for vehicle to be half repaired and issued not resolved

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We genuinely value all input, as it helps us improve our service and communication.

We understand your frustration and sincerely apologize if you felt there was a lack of communication throughout the repair process. Our goal is always to be transparent and thorough when helping our clients, especially when working within state-sponsored programs, which can sometimes extend repair timelines.

When you first contacted us regarding the A/C issue in your son Julian’s vehicle, our technician identified a major leak coming from the A/C condenser. At that point, we explained that this would be the starting point and that there was a possibility of additional leaks once the system was recharged and pressurized. You were also informed that the Low Income Repair Assistance Program (LIRAP) through the State of California would only cover verified leak-related repairs and that coverage beyond the initial approved repair was unlikely.

Thanks to the program, we were able to complete $1,324.75 worth of repairs with only a $126.08 out-of-pocket cost to you. Once the system was recharged, a secondary leak at the compressor was found. As discussed, this repair was not covered by the program and would be at your expense. We understand and respect your decision not to proceed further, especially after informing us that your third-party warranty had recently been canceled.

While we strive to keep every customer updated promptly, we acknowledge there may have been some delays during the process. Much of this was due to the necessary back-and-forth with the state program, which can take time for authorization.

We regret that you left feeling dissatisfied despite the substantial repairs completed at a significantly reduced cost to you. We’re always aiming to improve and will take your comments seriously as we continue to train our team to ensure clearer communication and better service in the future.

I feel super comfortable and confident with West Oceanside Auto & Transmission! Honestly saved me a ton of $$$ on repairs that just happened to fall under the warranty deadline by 2 days! I have been back twice since that save and will keep coming back. They communicate well and I never have to call and ask when my vehicle will be ready!

Fees completely out of line
I find the people very competent and good to deal with. However, you ripped me off. 150 bucks to inspect for a problem that I spent $4,000 plus to fix is ridiculous, if I want that, I'll go to the dealer. Worst of all, $120 "invoice processing" or "hazmat" fee. It was listed as both, so I don't know which it was. Or even worse, maybe it was two different fees. But either way it will probably prevent me from coming back to your location.

To clarify, all fees—including any diagnostic, invoice processing, or materials handling charges—are included in the original estimate provided and approved before any work begins. Transparency is very important to us, and we make sure clients are fully informed before proceeding.

Our diagnostic services are performed by highly trained technicians whose expertise often exceeds dealership standards, and we back our work with a warranty that’s double what most dealers offer. Despite this higher level of service, our pricing typically runs 8–10% less than equivalent dealer services.

True to their word. Good communication
I was due for 100 k milage tune up and had an appointment at Ford. Had a check engine light come on the day before and was next store to west automotive. Price wise both ford and West were expensive. Josh was very upfront with costs and saved money by replacing a cracked valve cover at the same time as the tune up. The cost was as quoted. Car is fine now.
