UBuildIt and/or URemodelIt employs or employed a thief
UBuildIt and/or URemodelIt employs or employed a crooked homebuilder named Kent Carter. Carter built homes under the name KC Homes.

We hired Carter to build what we thought would be our “dream home”. Instead, he turned it into a nightmare.

Kent Carter lied to us, repeatedly, about the price of materials going up. Ultimately, he admitted to embezzling at least $150,000 of our construction funds. We suspect that the figure was much higher. His construction foreman said Carter had a gambling habit and told us that was probably where most of our stolen money went.

Even worse was the subpar quality of construction. Years after our home was “finished”, we still deal with problems caused by Carter’s poor workmanship, corner cutting and use of inferior materials.

One of the selling points regarding hiring Carter was that he had highly skilled subcontractors that had worked for him for many years. His construction manager said that these subs quit working for Carter because they were not getting paid. He hired replacement subs whose level of experience and quality of work were far inferior to what we were led to expect.

Frankly, knowing that this organization would employ someone who is not only a thief, but is willing to put his name on such poor-quality work—we would not hire them to build or remodel a doghouse for us.
