Recently I went to one of the "jiffy" oil-change places and found they also do mechanical work (although I saw no ASE accreditations in plain view from the service bay) and after being charged an overpriced oil change, whereas they didn't even top off the "blinker fluid" (LOL) They also informed me that me brake pads were at 2mmm thickness. I also asked them to check the rears, they immediately said "yes they're bad too". I got a printout of an $1085 for all 4 pads/rotors and a handwritten note of $585 for pads only.
So when I went to my good friends at Summit Automotive, they did the brake inspection and recommended new pads/rotors on the front only as the rear were still within tolerance. I saved more than 50% at Summit Automotive and was treated professionally by professionals. Shout-Out to Carl, the man organizing all the chaos, he's awesome.
