Shoddy workmanship and Cussed out
I was an actual customer and will never go back. This was my experience with my daughters car.
#1 when hunting for a transmission shop in the area, I chose Smith since the nice lady on the phone said that it would take a week…1 day to tear down, 1 day to diagnose and order parts and 2 days to get parts in and start the rebuild and it should be ready right when I needed it prior to my daughter needing it for college up by Arkansas…..needless to say THAT didn’t happen. Was not even evaluated for 4 days…so we were forced to make other arrangements. And you know this understandable with current supply issues.

#2 When I FINALLY got the car back it seemed like they had done what they said they would do since the car ran great. They also said that their work was backed by a 18,000 mile warrant, which I thought was great….However I didn’t know I would be needing to use that warranty after only 600 miles….After we arranged for our Daughter to come back from Arkansas to pick it up, no no sooner got back to Arkansas and the Transmission LEAKED. Not only that the cab of the car REAKED with exhaust fumes. I had my daughter take it to another shop close to her school to make sure it was safe to drive ALL the way home AGAIN. 1st thing he said was that apparently Smith Automotive “technician” had cut or damaged the exhaust and had done a terrible job on the repair. 2nd thing he found was a missing bolt hold the Transmission to the engine, 3rd Smith Automotive “technician” had painted over dirt in order to make it look like a full rebuild job.
#3 when I asked them to make this right, they refused. And when I went to go pickup the car I went in gave them my name and asked for the key and he said that he wanted to put the car back on lift to show me the issue with the exhaust, I said there was no need since it would not make a difference. I never raised my voice but the owner followed me outside and stated, and I quote “If you are going to be a D1ck about this I am canceling your Warranty” and then started throughly Cussing me out in front of my wife and child that had brought me to pick up the car. If you want F bombs yelled at you in front of your 12 year old…This is your kind of shop.
I encourage you to avoid this shop, I know I won’t be back nor will the Company I work for be back.
