Worst Customer Service
My review of Serra Hyundai: Absolutely horrendous. I'm getting my service records and transferring away today. They sold me a lemon; when I traded in the lemon, they put me in a new car after 9 hours of negotiations where they tried to give me the worst possible deal. Hours of back and forth finally resulted in a deal. Mind you, this was after over a month of my car being in the shop, being called in to pick it up, arriving twice only to find that problems persisted that they couldn't fix. After this ordeal on a new car, I foolishly decided to purchase again. My car, when we purchased, had a small ding in the door we discovered while on the lot. We were told this could get handled no problem, just to come back in. We returned to get the spot repaired today now that the holidays are over and I had a second to breathe (we weren't told there was a 30 day limit), and the sales manager told us in the documentation it specified a 30 day window. So after leaving me without my car for over a month while it sat in the shop, unrepairable, after calling me down twice, wasting my gas and time, they compound the issue with this mess. The ding is small, but the gap in service is not. We are done with this place. Buyer beware! We will never do business here again.

Bought a Tuscon Hybrid today almost painlessly...
I had an unexpectedly pleasant time working with Eugene Jones today at Tameron Hyundai. His patience and professionalism made my "browsing and buying" experience much less painful than what I've had in the past. It would be hard to find a more helpful, knowledgeable and thoughtful sales representative than Eugene... My experience today with the entire Tameron Hyundai staff was first rate and I suspect follow-up will be excellent also.

I have purchased 3 vehicles from this dealership. Not follow up.
Every time I take one of the cars in for service, there is an issue after I leave the dealership which requires me to have to circle back. Today's issue, I had a flat tire and took my car to a local tire repair and the key for the wheel lock was not in the vehicle. Serra service department is the only people that have ever serviced this car, so they did not return it to the package. I called the service department at 8:17 am this morning and spoke to an advisor to explain my situation. She stated the manager was busy and requested my location and they would bring a key. I stated don't do that yet, maybe the tire place could get it removed without the key. The advisor was supposed to call me back in 20 mins to verify so I would not have to go back through the switchboard and be passed around, she never called back. I also requested a call from the Service Manager. so I could discuss this issue and all my previous issues, which have been many. It is now 4:06 and I have not received a call back. I tried to call again and was put on HOLD and no one ever answered. I have been pleasant and nice on all the other issues but today I really wanted to elevate my concerns to the manager about the service department

Maybe this review will get a response.

After purchasing the Vehicle for cash it was delivered to me in GA with a service light on the dash. 2 tires with low tire pressures. No temporary plates so I couldn’t drive it, took 5 days for them to email me a temporary tag. No cargo net or floor mats. After waiting 3 weeks no cargo net or floor mats or a follow up call from the dealer. Seems like once they have the sale that’s it .very poor after sales service.

Please don't go here if you have low credit, EVEN IF THEY TELL YOU, YOU ARE APPROVE. I contacted Antoine thru messenger on February 7th, I explained my situation and he told me to apply and I did. After asking me for 100's of papers he told me I was approve that he just needed to verify address but that I was approve. After the approval he stopped answering mu texts so I called Serra and I talked to Deonte, I explained everything again and I was told the same thing by him on February 8, that as far as he knew I was approved. On Feb, I did not have the money for the downpayment so I asked if my credit needed to be run again once I had the money and they told me no because the application-approval is valid for 30 days. I called-texted many days, to make sure that once I had my money I could go for a car because I was already approve and the answer was always "as far as I know you are approved". I went in today 02/22/2024 15 days after my application and as soon as I sat down they were running my credit again. When I asked why, they said that they needed to get an approval (after I was supposedly approve). I stayed and they (Cody, Deonte and Antoine) started to work on my application. After like an 1 hour, I was asked if I had a co-signer, I was not ask that the first time I apply. I gave them like 3 co-signer but 1 of them (the one that got me re-approve) I couldn't proof income. Knowing this information, Cody decided to show me a car but the car did not turn on due to not having gas. We got back to the building and Cody tells me "I'm sorry but we are not going to be able to approve you, you want the keys to your car(my trade-in)?" And I was let go with no car, a bunch of lies and a $100 gift car that don't even work. Good job.

Lied about what a vehicle could do
I purchased a 2023 Santa Cruz from Serra Hyundai and while on the phone speaking to a salesman I specifically asked if I would be able to pull my utility trailer with the Santa Cruz and I detailed out even how much weight I’d be pulling and what I’d be pulling and I was told Yes it could do all that. Well that evening my wife and I went in and purchased he Santa Cruz but there was no hitch installed on it at this time. If I wouldn’t have purchased it then it wouldn’t have ever had a hitch installed. Well I was told to come back 2 days later to have the hitch installed. I was working so my wife had to take it in herself. Well once she brought it back to me I seen the hitch and said to her that hitch is way to low. It’s was only 9 1/2 inches off the ground without any trailer hooked to it. Let me mention that a hitch height is recommended to be 11 inches off the ground. So as soon as I got home I hooked up my trailer to the hitch without anything being loaded on the trailer and then the hitch was only 8 inches off the ground. It’s not safe to operate a vehicle having a hitch that is only 8 inches off the ground. So I sent my first email addressing my concerns. I was told that someone would be in touch with me. Well nobody contacted me at all. So Saturday came along and I loaded up an inflatable water slide on my trailer that weighed 800lbs. The hitch went to 4 inches off the ground and hit the pavement multiple times while pulling it. Now know that I was told that the Santa Cruz could pull 3500lbs. That’s not true at all. It may be able to pull that much weight but with the design of the hitch u don’t have ground clearance to actually pull anything that’s even close to being safe. So again I emailed about my concerns and again still nobody tried contacting me. So at this point all I can do is contact my attorney which I’m gonna do in the morning because I was sold a vehicle under untruths about what the vehicle could do. I love the Santa Cruz but it’s towing capabilities is very inaccurate information. To fix the issue I would have to put a lift kit and bigger tires on it. The lift kit is over 500$ not including price of bigger tires. I addressed this issue ASAP once hitch was installed. Serra will be quick to help u purchase a vehicle but I can assure you that if you have an issue with that purchase they will not even try to acknowledge you. Thumbs down Serra! You should think more about ur customers than just a quick sale

Recent Purchase of 2022 Tucson
I recently purchased a 2022 Hyundai Tucson XRT at Serra Hyundai! I am very pleased with my new Tucson and absolutely love it! Michael Cofield assisted me with the purchase and was absolutely amazing! Several years ago, Michael helped me with my first purchase at Serra Hyundai. I was so pleased with the level of customer service provided by Michael that I'm a repeat customer of his and have purchased a total of 4 vehicles from him. I suffer from anxiety issues and in the past purchasing a new vehicle had always been a very stressful and unpleasant experience. After Michael assisted me with my first purchase, he has always made this a satisfying experience! I have purchased many vehicles over the years from multiple car dealers in the Greater Birmingham Area, but had never had a salesperson as friendly, professional, trustworthy, honest, and knowledgeable as Michael. Michael even keeps in touch periodically which is a rare characteristic. I consider him to be the best of the best and decided after that first purchase that I will only deal with him. Thank you Michael and the Serra Hyundai Team and will see you all again soon!

At Serra Hyundai in Trussville I was treated like they wanted my business, and my requested maintenance was completed quickly. I don’t think I’ll ever get maintenance from another dealer but this one.
