Drop this vehicle off for a timing chain and cut it back with a check engine light on
I have to be completely honest I’m very disappointed. It went in there to change the timing chain (or belt I can’t remember which one) and you recommended changing the water pump at the same time. That did make sense and we agreed to do the additional work.
However, when you completed the new timing chain and water pump, you called to tell me that I had a check engine light on. THIS VEHICLE DID NOT HAVE A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON WHEN I DROPPED IT OFF !
We agreed to make an attempt to repair the issue. That account cost me slightly more than $200. When you called to tell me that you needed to replace a part, you quoted me one amount and then build me for another. Your explanation was the part you were going to purchase was no longer available and you had to buy a part that was more money than the original.
The total repair for this check engine light exceeded $1100.0 (the $200.00 to make the attempt to repair without the part and then $900.00 with the new part.
I am a bit of a Volkswagen diesel junkie and use these vehicles to commute back-and-forth to my property 305 miles away on a regular basis. This is the third diesel vehicle. I have brought to a facility to replace the timing chain as a precaution.
It’s extremely unlikely I will ever be back.

Again-I dropped it off with no check engine light on, you did the repair and a check engine light occurred. Then you build me an additional $1100 to fix the check engine light issue….. that stinks!
