Feeling uncertain about the dealer's diagnosis and costs, I decided not to proceed with the repairs and paid AUDI of Sugar Land $570 to release the car. They offered to fix the car for $3,400 but also noted that they didn’t work with Carshield and reiterated that water damage wouldn't be covered.
At this point, I contacted Carshield directly to clarify the situation. I specifically asked if water damage from the air conditioning system would be covered, and to my surprise, they confirmed that it would be if it was indeed related to the AC. They recommended a shop in Stafford near Sugar Land, which gave me hope.
