The whole point of an independent shop is to offer reasonable prices for the things the dealer is way overcharging on.
This is a place that starts their pricing conversation by asking if you got a quote from the dealer, so they can try to match it.
Will they do good work? Yes.
Will the dealer do the same good work for the same price? Also yes.
Should you go here instead of the dealer if you need difficult things done on your car? 100% NO.
Why pay the same price when you can get it done by certified professionals?
In the end, what has happened, is that a mechanic I've trusted for years is now deciding that my business is worth less than pinching some more pennies from me.
For what it's worth, no brake job is worth $1.6k. That's obnoxious.
