SCAMMERS
First, if you value communication like I do, this isn’t the place for you.

My recent experience with palmetto auto service has been very poor. First it started off great, got a new oil cooler and a new transmission put in. After I got the car back, it was still shifting really hard, maybe even worse than when I brought it in. Was told that I needed to drive it to work it in and if it didn’t start shifting right after 1000 miles, bring it back in.

So upon bringing it back in, I will admit, I had a family emergency and had to go pick it up after hours. I let them know via email that I was doing so and that I had used the spare key. Never got a response to that so I figured it was all good. Owner didn’t seem to like that when I confronted him about how long it took when I brought it back for the third time, which I’m getting to.

So, the third time I dropped the car off on the 26th of May. Was told that day, “we are pretty swamped right now but, I can get to it Tuesday” (June 1st). This time I brought in for the same issues. Transmission shifting really hard from 1st to 2nd gear. Also, they exchanged some rims out for me and messed up a tire pressure sensor. Asked them to fix that as well. So I would email almost every week just for a status update, could never get one through email. Would call, Ashley would answer and take my number down, never would get a call back. To me, it would seem as if because it was a warranty, they didn’t want to touch it until they could get the money out the door first. I’m the meantime, I’m still making payments on the car. So, the warrant company in which paid for all of this through the dealership, calls me and says, “ we don’t have a claim number yet, and we are at three weeks. Have you heard anything?” So it wasn’t until I emailed them basically demanding a response with DOWCs statement about taking the car to another shop, they issued a statement about how they are working on a diagnostic. The car sat for three weeks without a diagnosis for Christ sake. Then they finally come up with a conclusion and say they can’t work on it and we are referred to a Chrysler dealership. I will be working with DOWC about all the money they have poured into this car without the car being fixed. Hopefully DOWC will take them off their list and stop referring them to their contract holders.

Needless to say, got a garbage transmission in the car and nothing to show for it!

I Will Go Nowhere Else!
I have never had any negative issues with Palmetto Auto. They have great prices, and they are up front about everything. I had my breaks done last year. A job well done! I just recently I had two wheel control arms replaced as well as two front wheel bearings and a coolant hose replaced. I am going back on the 1st to have my front end struts replaced. I called around for pricing and this place always beats everyone else on everything...including a friendly face and fine workmanship.

DEFINITELY NOT !!!!!
By Far The Worst Nonchalant Business Iv Ever Been To..They Had My Car For Maybe A Week They Did A Misdiagnosis Which Caused Them To Get The Incorrect Part. They Blamed Me For Their Misdiagnosis. They Told Me To Come & Pick Up My Car Because I’m Guessing At That Point They Were Tired Of Trying To Fix It So The Owner ( Robert) Told Me To Come & Get My Car & Pay Him 100$ For His Time. When I Came To Pick Up My Car It Wouldn't Crank. Need I Remind You I Drove It There Sooo It Crank For Me. Robert (The Owner) Was VERY Nonchalant About Gettin My Car To Crank. He Demanded I Get My Car Towed & That It Was Nothing He Can Do! I Asked Him To Atleast Help Me With Half He Said No He Has Done Enough & Walked Away! I Spoke To His Wife Amber & Another Lady That Offered To Help Me Pay For Towing That No Longer Works There (According To Amber). They Told Me To Leave My Car There Over The Weekend & They Will Take Care Of It. Here It Is Monday 11-2-20 & Robert Calls Me To Say Come Get Your Car I Have Other Cars Coming & I Cant Have Your Car Sitting Here. Explained To Him What His Wife Told Me He Said He Is The Owner & He Is Not Helping & What He Say Goes. We Had Words. I Went Back To The Establishment To Tell Him Someone Is Otw To Pick Up The Car He Looked At Me & Did A Thumbs Up. How Professional:) Never Should’ve Went There During This Election. If I Could’ve Chose No Star I Would’ve !!!

Overcharging!!
I was having issues with my A/C. I came in and I got an estimate of about $779 because I apparently needed a new air compressor since Robert explained to me that little pieces of metal were going through it. I signed some document (which he never gave me a copy of) and just thought I was agreeing that the price was an estimate and not what I would pay in the end. We agreed I would come in at 8am the next morning to start repairing my A/C, however I didn't think I was binded in a contract saying I would be paying for everything. I thought it was a free estimated price and that I would go think about it. I decided I wasn't going to come in and at 11 in the morning I wake up to TEN MISSED CALLS FROM THE SHOP. I picked up the phone and Robert was basically threatening me saying he would take it up to court if I didn't come in and pay for the compressor. This was very unprofessional and I will never come back here because. UNACCEPTABLE!! Who talks to a young lady like that?
I will be honest, this was my first time going to a repair shop to have work done on my car (I just bought the car, used), so I knew very little about pricing and labor. I have been doing some research (which I should have done before) and I also have some friends who are telling me I got ripped off! I sat in the shop for maybe 2.5 hours (about 11:30am-2pm) and I was surprised they had done it so quickly. However, when I went to pay he still charged me for the estimates 3.6 hours of labor!! I should've only been charged for the amount of time they took and I want my money back
