Unauthorized Work and Charges – No Estimate Provided
I called this shop after my loose underbody fender liner broke and fell out and it was dragging while driving. I called this place that was near by and I came in asked for a simple temporary fix—something like securing it with zip ties or removing the loose section so I could safely drive. I’ve had this exact issue handled before at multiple local shops, where they quickly secured it with zip ties for free in under a minute. If I had duct tape I could done it myself, for temporary repairs.

Instead, this shop proceeded to do additional work and install multiple clips without ever providing an estimate or getting my approval.

At no point was pricing discussed. I was only told the total of almost $200, after the work was already completed, which for some reason, took over 2+ hours to install 15 clips that and two zip ties that he charged me $5 each for, leaving me with no option to approve or decline the charges. This is not acceptable and goes against basic repair shop standards, especially in California where estimates and customer authorization are required.

Charging nearly $75 for clips and over $100 in labor for what should have been a straightforward fix is one thing—but doing it without any communication or consent is the real issue.
