Michigan City Hyundai Committed Fraud when they sold me an unsafe 2016 Dodge Journey
Michigan City Hyundai Committed Fraud when they sold me an unsafe 2016 Dodge Journey on 06/23/23 after their service department performed their inspection and found bad front struts & sway bar links which they replaced. I almost immediately started hearing what sounded like a bad front passenger cv-axle. I attempted several times by phone to speak with the sales manger, but he was never available. It wasn't until I had my finance company hold the loan did the dealership finally agree to fix it. I informed the service department when I brought the journey back for the cv-axle that the transmission they inspected and said was good is now shifting very erratically. The service department once again said “The transmission is good”. I noticed after I got the Journey home the service department broke all the clips in the fender well and just left it that way, so now my bumper cover is loose. I’m now stuck dealing with a bad transmission, warped front rotors, serpentine belt pulley sounds like the bearings are grinding (They said the pulley was all good). The radio just cuts out at random times and doesn't come back for hours or days later. The backup camera quit working and now the service engine light is on. If that’s not bad enough the dealership committed fraud and charged me for vin etching and never performed the work. I spoke with the sales manager and he said he would refund it but of course he lied. I will be speaking with an attorney to discuss my options.

Great Service
Staff always friendly. My vehicle was checked in at appointment time and was told about an hour for maintenance; I was out in less than an hour.

Go over what was found during routine maintenance and what may be needed in the future.

Easy, friendly
I had to reschedule my services due to my own time crunch. They were very friendly about it and made it easy to reschedule. I had no issues during my oil change and tire rotation. They seemed really busy but had me out in about an hour.

Unhappy customer
Labor charges are a bit ridiculous. Was there a little under an hour and my labor was just about as much as my parts. $55 oil change. $23.50 to change a $26 cabin filter! $16 to change a $21.40 engine air cleaner! $20 tire rotation. Filters can be changed in very little time compared to the other labor that was performed so can't really figure that out. I understand the dealership is usually a little more for parts and labor for some unknown reason but it hasn't been this much in the past.

Great Service
The Michigan City Hyundai team took real good care of me and my car. I was disappointed, and Joe reached out to me. We discussed the issues and I took the car back. The car came back better and while I was their, I noticed Elizabeth in service helping a older man. She was very polite and mentioned to him about putting his gloves on ( because it was cold.)

Hope its not like this all the time
I would think hyundai would not charge $70.00 to check a hatchback lever. I saw amenities on the web site about a car wash? I could be wrong but that was not offered. I was told they were behind. The stickers should go in the window for the next oil change. The last 2 times it didn't happen.
