Went with the intentions of leasing a new pickup, credit was pulled, details of my trade were known, sales manager comes out and quotes a price for monthly payment and down payment, I agree to that price because it was fair, and I trusted him. Half hour later(after spending close to 5 hours there) all of a sudden the original numbers “wouldn’t work” and I’d have to pay close to $60 more a month. With no real reasoning why they “wouldn’t work”
So in my opinion, they heard that I trusted them(broke the cardinal rule) and decided to see if they could use(misuse) my trust and get me to pay substantially more for the vehicle, and pull one over on me, not exactly “upfront and transparent” deal
Not the first person this has happened to either, after talking to people about what happened to me, multiple friends have mentioned Maguires has tried to jack up the price of a vehicle
I never leave negative reviews, but, I’ve reached out to my salesperson(Sunday) and the general manager(Tuesday) of the dealership, trying to hold them to their original quote(which was given after my trade was appraised, and mine and my co-signer had our credit pulled) or, at the very least, a logical and believeble explanation as to how the sales managers original quote was so far off, because I refuse to believe, that as many deals he processes, he doesn’t have a pretty good idea what he’s doing. So at best it’s incompetence at worst his actions are straight out thievery.
Their lack of response, to me, is a response. I’d recommend avoiding maguires and their so called up front pricing. Because what you see, is anything but what you get
