BEWARE VERY AWARE of this garage. My grand daughter took her car there, because her vehicle was leaking brake oil badly, and she hardly had any brakes. She goes to college in Kingston, and I suggested she go to the nearest garage to have them take a look, find the issue, and give her an estimate. She had new brake rotors and brake pads installed last year by her usual mechanic back home, so we knew it wasn't a brake issue. The owner decided to go over her car with a fine tooth comb, to find everything & anything ever so slightly wrong with the car, right down to a burnt rear license plate bulb, which he quoted her around $60.00 to replace. a
He also stated that she had a rear suspension issue, and that her brake rotors and brake pads where finished (which had about 22000 kilometers on them, and she does mostly highway driving) The total amount of his estimate was close to $5500.00, for a 2010 subcompact car. We told him that we decided to have the car towed back home 300 kilometers, and have our local regular mechanic assess the situation. Our mechanic went over the car, and fixed the brake line leakage for about $300. He said her brakes were in very good condition, and that there was one caliper that was seized, and he replaced that. The other things that Auto Service Kingston quoted were not things that had to be repaired immediately, and to simply keep an eye on those things, and that she could safely continue to drive the car. So if you have a student going to university or college in Kingston, stay as far away as you can from KINGSTON AUTO SERVICE garage at 66 Harvey Street in Kingston Ontario, as they are nothing but a shark infested cesspool of thieves. I wish we could give 0 starts to this business, but it only allows 1 star as the lowest. Thank God for CAA who towed her vehicle back home, which brought tow expenses down considerably. The car is already up and running smoothly again, but no thanks to Auto Service Kingston. They should be ashamed of themselves, taking advantage of young Damsel in distress. They will never see her again.
This is my go-to place for auto repairs in central Minnesota. Warm, comfortable waiting area while they change oil and check out the vehicle, friendly suggestions for preventative maintenance (with no pressure). I highly recommend this place!
I called up the tire shop and was able to get in right away, I needed a tire patched. I brought my vehicle in and was able to get fast and courteous service. Technicians were super nice and knowledgeable, helped me get back on the road with no fuss at all. Thanks!
Service is great, maybe to good. It's far too obvious you are trying to hit weekly sales numbers. It's very telling when your are asked if you want a tire rotate when you know the tires have not been purchased there. But not asked when they are purchased there. ( free) ??
Full service oil change includes inspection of components related to auto safety...and for this reason, one tire was found to have a foreign object causing a tire pressure leak. Also found during this inspection was a brake component failure. All said in done, oil was changed, tire repaired as well as brake issue addressed. Thank you Kingston auto for all you do.
